Itinerary
Day 1
Private pickup in Athens (hotel lobby, apartment entrance or Piraeus port) at the chosen start time. The tour follows the supplier itinerary: Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth (Temple of Apollo and Acrocorinth), local pottery demonstration, Nemea wineries (wine tasting) and stop at Lechaio seaside taverna, then return to Athens.
Corinth Canal — scenic viewpoint
Admire the spectacular views of one of the world's smallest ocean canals that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive at the designated viewing platforms for the best unobstructed photos; keep an eye on the wind as it can feel stronger on the bridge.
- There are limited restroom facilities nearby; plan for a short stop before leaving Athens if needed.
- Bring a light jacket in the afternoon—sea breezes between the cliffs can be cool even in spring.
Temple of Apollo & Ancient Corinth — archaeological site
Still standing and well preserved: the Temple of Apollo, a Doric peripteral temple (constructed ca. 540 B.C) and the surrounding ancient agora.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear comfortable walking shoes; the site has uneven archaeological surfaces and short stair sections.
- Entrance tickets are purchased on site (visitor note in booking). Keep small change available for ticket purchase and any site brochure.
- If you prefer quieter photos, visit the Temple first before walking the wider agora area where small groups gather.
Acrocorinth (Venetian acropolis) — viewpoint
The acropolis of Ancient Corinth (Acrocorinth) is the Venetian-era fortification overlooking the ancient city and the Lechaion harbour.
Tips from local experts:
- Access to the full castle involves steeper paths; for an easier visit ask the driver to drop you at the main viewpoint area if you prefer a short walk.
- Bring water and sun protection; shade is limited on the acropolis slopes in late spring and summer.
- Check local opening/access conditions on the day—some sections may be restricted for conservation.
Local pottery demonstration — Ancient Corinth
Take a small Greek pottery lesson and admire the art of pottery at a local store. A chance to see traditional techniques and bring home ceramic souvenirs.
Tips from local experts:
- This is a short, hands-on demonstration rather than a full workshop—wear clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on if you plan to try throwing.
- Ask the host about shipping options for fragile items if you plan to buy larger souvenirs and are traveling by air.
- Bring a small bag for any purchases; many pieces are fragile and need careful handling for the remainder of the day.
Nemea — wineries and Temple of Zeus (short visit and tasting)
Do wine tasting at the famous wineries of Nemea and pay a visit to the Temple of Zeus area in the region. Wine tasting is noted as available during the tour.
Tips from local experts:
- Wine tastings require a short walk at winery premises; wear comfortable shoes and let the host know of any tasting restrictions or allergies.
- Carry a small bag for any purchased bottles; consider asking the winery about packing for transport if you have onward flights.
- If you prefer a quieter tasting, request a table or seating away from busier groups—this tour is private so your driver can coordinate arrival timing.
Lechaio (Lecheo) — seaside town & taverna stop
Visit the seaside town of Lechaio and stop at a local taverna for seafood in a coastal setting.
Tips from local experts:
- If you plan to order seafood, ask the taverna staff about the day's catch to know what's freshest.
- Menus may be in Greek and English; let the taverna know of any dietary restrictions in advance so they can advise on suitable dishes.
- There can be limited parking near seaside tavernas—your driver will select an accessible spot and confirm pickup time for departure.
