Itinerary
Day 1
Evening romantic private catamaran cruise departing Marina Port Vell — optimised for sunset photos and a relaxed onboard experience.
Meet & Board — Marina Port Vell (Arrival & Boarding)
Arrive at the main entrance of Marina Port Vell and meet your Sondevela crew. The team will welcome you, help with luggage, show safety briefing and guide you aboard the Bali 4.1 'Serena'. Enjoy a welcome drink as the boat prepares to leave the harbour.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for any parking or short taxi drop-offs — the main gate is at Moll de la Barceloneta 1.
- Ask the crew for the best seat for sunset photos (usually forward starboard); bring a thin jacket even in May — sea breeze is cooler than the city.
- If anyone is prone to seasickness, take a motion‑sickness tablet 30–60 minutes before boarding; the crew can advise discreetly.
Coastal Sailing — Glide Past W Hotel & Barceloneta
Leave the harbour and sail along Barcelona’s coastline. Admire iconic landmarks such as the W Hotel (Hotel Vela), Barceloneta beach and the modern skyline while settling into the catamaran's comfortable decks.
Tips from local experts:
- For postcard shots of the W Hotel against the sea, position yourself on the foredeck on the port side as the catamaran heads south.
- Let the crew know if you prefer a quieter zone — they can adjust music and seating for a more intimate atmosphere.
- Keep phones in airplane mode (or use local data) — the crew will often point out photo moments so you don’t miss them.
Time to Enjoy the Sea — Swim, Paddle & Snorkel
If sea conditions permit, the crew will anchor briefly for a refreshing swim. Two paddle boards and snorkel masks are available — enjoy a short, private water stop with views of the city from the sea.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring your swimsuit under your clothes for quick changes; a lightweight towel and a spare top make re‑boarding comfortable.
- Ask the hostess for the freshwater stern shower after swimming to rinse salt off before snacks/drinks.
- Wear reef‑safe sunscreen and water‑safe shoes if you plan to paddle; the crew will brief you on safe entry/exit.
Drinks & Local Snacks on Board (Cava & Tapas)
Relax onboard with cava, wine, beer and soft drinks while savouring a selection of local appetizers: toasted bread with tomato, Iberian ham, cheeses, Spanish omelette and guacamole. Music and a gentle sea breeze create an elegant, private atmosphere.
Tips from local experts:
- Tell the hostess any dietary needs early — they can adjust appetizers or recommend upgrades (private chef/cakes) from the extras list.
- For a romantic toast, request the crew to time your cava service with the golden hour — it's perfect for photos and a special moment.
- If you prefer a calmer soundtrack, ask for the Bluetooth to be set to a low volume and request a playlist for relaxed evening vibes.
Return & Disembark — Back to Marina Port Vell
Cruise back to Marina Port Vell at a relaxed pace so you have a final view of Barcelona from the water. The crew will assist with disembarkation and luggage, concluding your private 2‑hour experience.
Tips from local experts:
- Use the last minutes on deck for one final photo of the skyline; the crew will often slow for a cinematic approach to the marina.
- Have your phone/camera charged for disembarkation photos — the marina lighting at dusk is flattering for couple shots.
- Plan your onward transport in advance (short taxi or walk) — the marina area is easy to reach, but taxis can be busy at peak evening times.
