Hotel pickup in Hurghada & transfer to Cairo
Private pickup from your Hurghada hotel and comfortable transfer to Cairo with rest stops en route. Approx. 5–6 hours driving.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring your passport and carry it with you during the transfer (required for any checkpoints and hotel check-in).
- Ask the guide to schedule regular restroom/stretch stops; if you have mobility or circulation concerns request an aisle seat.
- Pack light for the day (small bag) and keep necessary medications and water within reach during the drive.
Giza Plateau: Great Pyramid, Khafre, Menkaure & Sphinx
Guided visit on the Giza Plateau to view the three major pyramids and the Sphinx. Time allocated for photos, short walks and viewpoint stops.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear comfortable, supportive shoes — surfaces on the plateau are uneven and include sand and stone.
- Entry inside a pyramid and the Solar Boat Museum require extra tickets and are excluded from the standard tour; speak with your guide if interested.
- Bring sunscreen, a hat, and bottled water; seating is limited in many outdoor areas, so take breaks as needed.
Lunch (local restaurant)
Lunch at a nearby restaurant after the Giza visit. The guide will select a venue suitable for the group's needs.
Tips from local experts:
- Notify the guide of any dietary restrictions or allergies before lunch so the restaurant can accommodate you.
- Request a table close to restroom facilities and in a shaded/cool area if available.
- If you prefer a lighter meal after the drive and morning walking, ask for regional options such as grilled fish, chicken or salads.
Transfer to the Egyptian Museum (Tahrir)
Short transfer from Giza to the museum in central Cairo with the guide providing historical context en route.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a light jacket or shawl in case air conditioning in the vehicle or museum is cool.
- Have small change available for restroom fees or quick purchases en route.
- Confirm with the guide the exact meeting point and time to avoid delays at the museum entrance.
Visit: Egyptian Museum (Tahrir)
Guided visit to the Egyptian Museum (Museum of Egyptian Antiquities) to see major exhibits including Tutankhamun's collection. Note: access to the Royal Mummy Room is excluded unless separately arranged.
Tips from local experts:
- Photography rules can vary; follow posted signs and the guide's instructions—some rooms prohibit flash or photography.
- The Royal Mummy Room requires a separate entrance ticket and may be closed; ask the guide before planning to enter.
- Benches are available in some galleries but walking between rooms can be tiring—take pauses and use museum cloakroom if needed.
Hotel transfer & check-in (4* Cairo hotel)
Short transfer to the assigned 4-star hotel in Cairo. Time to check in, rest and refresh before an evening at leisure.
Tips from local experts:
- Order the breakfast box at reception the day before the trip if you need an early takeaway (per supplier advice).
- Keep your passport and room key with you during check-in; use the hotel safe for valuables.
- Request a ground-floor or elevator-accessible room in advance if stairs or long corridors are difficult for you.
Evening at leisure in Cairo
Free evening. Options (not included) include a short Nile boat trip, a relaxed dinner in the hotel or a gentle walk in nearby areas.
Tips from local experts:
- Avoid lone late-night walks in unfamiliar side streets; use hotel or trusted transport for evening outings.
- If you plan a short Nile felucca or boat trip, note this is not included in the tour and should be booked separately through the hotel or guide.
- If you have limited mobility, request assistance from hotel staff for any evening transfers or reservations.
Day 2
Morning visits to the Citadel (Muhammad Ali / Alabaster Mosque) and Khan el-Khalili bazaar, lunch, then return transfer to Hurghada.

Transfer to the Citadel (Muhammad Ali / Alabaster Mosque)
Short transfer to the Saladin Citadel area. The guide will provide context about the site on the way.
Tips from local experts:
- The Citadel area can be windy and exposed; bring a light layer and wear sun protection.
- Request that the driver drops you at the entrance closest to ramps/easier access if mobility is a concern.
- Carry small change for restroom fees and small purchases inside the site.
Visit: Citadel & Muhammad Ali (Alabaster) Mosque
Guided visit to the Citadel complex and the Muhammad Ali Mosque (often called the Alabaster Mosque). Time for photography and short walks around the courtyard and viewpoints.
Tips from local experts:
- Dress modestly for mosque entry (shoulders and knees covered); women may be asked to cover hair in certain areas.
- The mosque and citadel have steps and some uneven paths; use handrails and take your time on stairs.
- Seating is limited near viewpoints; plan short rests and avoid rushing between viewpoints.
Khan el-Khalili Bazaar — shopping and wandering
Explore the historic Khan el-Khalili market area with the guide, time for shopping and visiting traditional coffeehouses.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep personal items secure and use a cross-body bag; busy market lanes can be crowded.
- Bargaining is expected — start well below the asking price and be polite; ask the guide for a recommended price range.
- If you have difficulty standing for long periods, plan shorter browsing sessions and sit in a café when needed.
Lunch near Khan el-Khalili
Lunch in the Khan el-Khalili area before the return drive. The guide will choose a restaurant suitable for the group's needs.
Tips from local experts:
- Ask for a quieter table away from the main street if noise is a concern.
- Confirm any dietary restrictions with the guide before ordering to ensure the restaurant can accommodate them.
- Allow extra time for the group to finish meals comfortably before the return transfer begins.

Tips from local experts:
- Keep your passport and any personal medication accessible for the return journey.
