Itinerary
Day 1
Meet, bike fitting, safety briefing and route overview at the meeting point before we start cycling.
Meeting point — Bike fit & briefing
Meet the guide at the designated start point for bike selection, helmet fitting, and a short safety briefing. Confirm e-bike preference if requested after booking.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete paperwork and get fitted without rushing.
- Bring a small backpack and a light jacket; June can still be cool under trees.
- If you requested an e-bike after booking, remind the guide at check-in so they can prepare the correct bike.
Day 1
Cycle into local wooded parks to experience Helsinki's urban nature and short forest trails.
Ride & explore — Riistavuoren and Huopalahden parks
Cycle from the meeting point into Riistavuoren Park and continue to Huopalahden Park. Short on-foot sections and viewpoints where the guide explains local nature and history. Terrain is mixed forest trails and park paths; participants must be able to ride a bicycle.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep bikes in low gear on steeper trail sections and walk the bike if a route looks steep or rooty.
- Watch for narrow unpaved sections and give priority to pedestrians and local runners.
- Bring a small bottle of water stored in a bike cage or backpack; there are limited drinking-water points on these trails.
Day 1
Cultural island visit with a short walk around Seurasaari and a Finnish-style BBQ lunch.
Seurasaari Open-Air Museum — Cultural walk & BBQ
Arrive at Seurasaari for a roughly 1 km walk around the island's open-air museum buildings and a group BBQ meal. The guide provides commentary on the traditional wooden buildings and Finnish cultural history while you eat. The BBQ is served after the first cycling leg.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear comfortable shoes for the island's gravel paths and short inclines during the 1 km walk.
- Request vegetarian or vegan meal options when you confirm your booking; the operator offers both.
- Keep personal items secure on the island; benches and picnic areas can be windy and exposed.
Day 1
Traditional Finnish sauna experience. Note: swimsuits are generally not used in Finnish saunas; the sauna location may vary.
Finnish sauna experience (location may vary)
Short transfer to a local sauna near Topeliuksenkatu for a traditional sauna session and optional cold plunge or shower afterward. Time includes quick change and relaxing time in the sauna. The exact sauna venue may differ from day to day.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a towel and a small toiletry bag; lockers or changing facilities are usually available but vary by venue.
- Follow the guide's instructions on sauna etiquette — generally no swimsuits and quiet, respectful behavior.
- If you prefer to keep a swimsuit on, notify the guide before entry so arrangements can be checked; note traditional saunas often prohibit swimsuits.
Day 1
Final cycling stretch through Helsinki's Keskuspuisto (Central Park) with nature views, then return to the meeting point to finish the tour.
Keskuspuisto ride — Forested Central Park
Cycle through Keskuspuisto to enjoy forest trails, small lakes and open green spaces. This section is a relaxed ride with stops for short viewpoints and local history notes from the guide. Return to Angervotie 10 to conclude the tour.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect mixed surfaces (gravel and compact dirt); use moderate tire pressure for comfort and traction.
- Keep to the right on shared paths and signal when passing other cyclists or pedestrians.
- Plan to change into dry clothes after the sauna before the final ride if you prefer; there is a short buffer before the last cycling section.
