Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at Higashi-Osaka Station and walk together to Chef Yuki's cooking venue for a private hands-on class (options: morning or evening). Class includes instruction, hands-on cooking, and the meal you prepare.
Tempura making class with Yuki — Morning session
Meeting at Higashi-Osaka Station, brief introductions, then a short walk to the cooking venue. Hands-on instruction: tempura techniques (including kakiage), hand-shaving bonito for miso soup, and izakaya coleslaw. Finish by sharing the meal with selected teas.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 5–10 minutes early at the main station entrance so the group can depart promptly at the meeting time.
- Notify the host in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions — the class uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
- Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes and light layers; kitchens get warm when frying tempura.
Tempura making class with Yuki — Evening session
Meeting at Higashi-Osaka Station, short introductions, then a brief walk to the cooking venue. Evening hands-on session covering tempura, bonito shaving for miso soup, and izakaya coleslaw. Share your prepared meal with selected teas and relax in the host’s space.
Tips from local experts:
- If coming by public transport in the evening, check train times — last connections from central Osaka vary by line.
- The class includes aprons and Japanese knives provided by the host; personal kitchen tools are not required.
- Space is limited to six participants; keep belongings light — there is minimal storage at many private-home venues.
