Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day guided sightseeing of Jaipur’s main monuments and bazaars. Pickup by air-conditioned private vehicle; guide accompanies you throughout. Monuments' entry tickets and lunch are not included.
Hotel pickup and transfer to Amber Fort
Morning pickup from central Jaipur hotels or agreed meeting point; transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to Amber Fort area.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm your hotel pickup address and any mobility needs the day before to ensure a smooth pickup.
- Ask the driver for a short rest stop if you need to stretch after pickup — we build a 30-minute window for pickup and transfer.
- Keep a small bottle of water and your ID easily accessible for checkpoint or monument ticket counters.
Amber Fort (Amer Fort) visit
Guided visit to Amber Fort complex on the Amer hill. The guide will show main courtyards and viewpoints and advise on accessible routes. Monument entrance tickets are not included.
Tips from local experts:
- There are uneven steps and slopes at Amber Fort — bring comfortable, low-traction shoes and take the gentler ramps where available.
- Carry a lightweight scarf or hat for sun protection; shaded rest spots are limited so plan short pauses with your guide.
- If mobility is limited, request the guide to plan the shortest internal route and arrange vehicle access close to the main viewpoint when possible.
Jal Mahal (photo stop & lakeside view)
Short stop at Man Sagar Lake for views and photos of Jal Mahal from the roadside and lakeside vantage points. This is a brief, low-effort stop suitable for guests who prefer minimal walking.
Tips from local experts:
- The Jal Mahal is best viewed from the main lakeside viewpoint; there is minimal walking required from parking to the viewpoint.
- Bring sunglasses and a hat for the open lakeside area; seating is limited so plan a short photo stop rather than a long walk.
- If you need shade or seating, ask the guide to position the vehicle as close as possible to the viewpoint to reduce walking.
City Palace guided visit
Guided walk through City Palace complex courtyards and museum areas. The guide will orient you to the main highlights and suggest the most accessible routes. Monument entry tickets are not included.
Tips from local experts:
- City Palace has multiple courtyards and some areas with steps — plan to stay on the main courtyard routes for easier access.
- There are shaded areas and benches in the palace courtyards; use these for short rests between rooms.
- Keep a small cash amount or card ready if you decide to purchase a ticket for the museum sections; the guide can advise on queue locations and quieter entrances.
Jantar Mantar (short visit)
Visit the Jantar Mantar observatory next to City Palace for an explanation of the large stone instruments. The visit is compact and mostly level-surface, suitable for guests who prefer minimal walking.
Tips from local experts:
- The Jantar Mantar paths are mostly flat; wear sun protection as shade is limited between instruments.
- Ask the guide to prioritize the key instruments to keep the visit short and comfortable.
- If you have limited mobility, request to view the primary instruments from nearest accessible pathways rather than circulating the entire site.
Hawa Mahal (exterior viewing / short visit)
Brief stop at Hawa Mahal to view the iconic honeycomb façade from the street and take photos. Interior entrance is optional and ticketed (not included). This stop is kept short for comfort.
Tips from local experts:
- Hawa Mahal’s best photos are taken from the street-level viewpoint on the main road — avoid crowded steps and ask the guide to choose a quieter moment.
- If you prefer to enter the small museum inside, note that there are steps and limited seating; entry tickets are purchased separately onsite.
- Keep personal belongings secure in the busy area; pockets or a small crossbody bag are recommended for ease and safety.
Lunch (suggested): Laxmi Misthan Bhandar (LMB) — own expense
Suggested lunch stop at a well-known local restaurant in Johari Bazaar area. Lunch cost is not included in the tour price; seating and service are generally senior-friendly but may be busy at peak times.
Tips from local experts:
- LMB is a popular spot in Johari Bazaar — ask the guide to reserve seating or choose a quieter time to avoid waiting.
- If you have dietary restrictions, inform staff directly; many Jaipur restaurants will accommodate simple vegetarian/low-spice requests.
- Carry any required medications and request a table with nearby restroom access if needed for convenience.
Local crafts & textile bazaars (Johari & Bapu Bazaar)
Guided short shopping visit through Johari Bazaar and nearby Bapu Bazaar to browse textiles, jewelry and handicrafts. The guide will point out accessible stalls and help with local bargaining norms. Time allotted is kept moderate to avoid long standing periods.
Tips from local experts:
- Johari and Bapu Bazaar are active and can be crowded — keep walking aids or seating needs in mind and plan short browsing segments.
- Bring a small, secure bag and avoid carrying large valuables while moving through the bazaars.
- If you want help with prices or looking for specific handicrafts, ask the guide to introduce you to reputable stalls to reduce negotiation time and walking.
Return transfer and drop-off
Short transfer back to the pickup hotel or central drop-off point in Jaipur. The guide will confirm the drop-off location in advance.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm the preferred drop-off address with the guide at the start of the tour to ensure a direct return.
- If you need assistance carrying purchases to your room or vehicle, request help from the guide or driver at the end of the tour.
- Allow a short buffer after drop-off for any final assistance (restroom, payments, or arranging follow-up transport).
