The tour includes e-bike, helmet, insurance, water, rain poncho, technical support and all food (drinks extra). Intermediate bike skills required.
This itinerary was created in collaboration with Turibike, inspired by the tour Medellín: Local neighborhoods and included food on E-bike. Please check the tour information during your booking process.

- Electric bike ride through everyday Medellín neighborhoods
- Neighborhood plaza stop to observe local life
- Tasting of buñuelos and a traditional arepa at a local bakery
- Small-group route with bilingual local guide and technical support
Itinerary
Day 1
3.5-hour guided e-bike experience through local neighborhoods with food tastings.
Meet, bike fit & safety briefing
Meet your guide at the meeting point for helmet fitting, e-bike setup, a short skills check, route overview and safety briefing. Guide confirms insurance and issues water and rain poncho.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a photo ID for check-in and any existing medical info (allergies/conditions).
- Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes suitable for cycling.
- Arrive 10 minutes early so the guide can complete bike setup and a brief skills check.
E-bike ride through Laureles — neighborhood life & plazas
Pedal through Laureles and nearby local streets: tree-lined avenues, small plazas where locals gather (you may see elderly residents playing cards), and short photo stops while the guide shares neighborhood history and daily-life observations.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep one hand on brakes when passing market stalls and watch for pedestrians and scooters.
- Use the e-bike's assist modes conservatively on descents—your guide will recommend settings based on skill level.
- Carry your water bottle provided; refill options are limited in small plazas, so hydrate between bakery/meals.
Traditional bakery stop — buñuelos and arepa tasting
Sit with locals at a traditional bakery to taste freshly made buñuelos and a family-style arepa following a long-standing recipe. Guide will explain the ingredients and cultural context. Drinks are not included.
Tips from local experts:
- If you have gluten or dairy sensitivities, tell the guide before tasting so they can confirm ingredients.
- Bring small bills for any extra drinks you choose to purchase at the bakery.
- Keep a light jacket or the provided poncho handy—bakeries can be warm inside but it can be breezy on the street.
Final ride back & wrap-up
A relaxed final ride returning to the meeting point with a short debrief: return bikes, collect belongings, confirm any follow-up (rain/reschedule policy) and say goodbye to your guide.
Tips from local experts:
- Allow time when returning for a final bike check so no items are left behind on racks or baskets.
- If weather turns heavy, the guide will advise rescheduling options per the operator’s policy.
- Tip the guide in cash if you appreciated the service; have small bills ready for a smooth farewell.
