Itinerary
Day 1
3-hour comfortable golf-cart sightseeing tour around central Rome, tailored for guests who prefer limited walking and regular rest stops. The listed agenda items from the original activity are followed as core stops.
Meeting & briefing — Piazza di Santa Caterina della Rota
Meet your driver-guide at the designated meeting point for a short accessibility & safety briefing. We confirm any mobility needs and fasten seat belts; bottled water and a small map will be provided.
Tips from local experts:
- There is a flat paved area where the cart will wait — it'll be easier to board from the curb; ask the guide for the lowest-step side.
- Restroom option: the nearby small cafe/restroom on Via di Santa Chiara is available if needed before departure.
- If you use a mobility aid, inform the driver immediately — carts are boarded from the right-hand side where the step is lowest.
Colosseum external photo stop (Colosseo)
Short stop outside the Colosseum for photos and a concise history: Roman engineering, gladiator arenas, and best vantage points for accessible photography.
Tips from local experts:
- The driver will stop at the accessible viewpoint near the Colosseum entrance on Piazza del Colosseo — it's step-free and has benches.
- Try to take photos from the western side (near Via Nicola Salvi) to avoid crowds and get an unobstructed view.
- Public accessible restrooms are located nearby inside some visitor facilities — ask the guide if you need directions.
Roman Forum — panoramic viewpoint
Drive to a comfortable viewing point for the Roman Forum (external). Your guide will point out major ruins and give a short, easy-to-follow historical overview without stairs or long walks.
Tips from local experts:
- The stop is at a panoramic viewpoint with level access; if you prefer not to get out, remain seated in the cart for the same view.
- Bring sunglasses for clear views across the ruins in bright weather; spring mornings are usually mild but can be sunny.
- Benches and shade are limited — if you need to sit, ask the guide to position the cart to block the sun or to provide a seated break.
Piazza Venezia & Vittoriano (Altare della Patria) photo stop
Stop at Piazza Venezia to view the grand Vittoriano monument. Short walk optional; otherwise enjoy the monument from the golf cart while your guide explains its significance.
Tips from local experts:
- The area around the Vittoriano has level pavements where the cart can park; if you'd like to step out, take only a short, guided stroll onto even pavement.
- This monument faces wide open space — it's a good wind-protected spot in spring; wear a light layer for comfort during breezy mornings.
- If you have limited mobility, request the driver to keep the cart close to the viewing area so you can remain seated and still enjoy great photos.
On-board snack & restroom pause (included)
Short comfort break while parked in a calm square (snack and bottled water provided onboard). Time to rest legs and use a nearby accessible restroom if needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Snacks and bottled water are provided; if you have dietary needs, let the operator know at booking so an appropriate snack can be prepared.
- If you require a restroom, the guide will park near a publicly accessible facility — ask ahead so the driver can position the cart with minimal walking.
- This is a good time to charge a phone with a portable charger (if you brought one) — guides often have a safe spot to keep small items while you step away.
Pantheon exterior visit (Piazza della Rotonda)
Short stop at the Pantheon to admire the façade and portico. The guide will explain the building's architecture and best ways to appreciate the site without entering (the tour does not include entry).
Tips from local experts:
- The ground in Piazza della Rotonda is mostly level cobblestone — wear supportive shoes and take care when stepping off the cart.
- If you prefer to remain seated, the guide will position the cart so you still get a clear view of the Pantheon and the lively square.
- Public seating and shaded archways are nearby for a quiet rest; many cafés nearby have accessible seating if you want a longer break afterwards.
Trevi Fountain — toss a coin & photos (Fontana di Trevi)
Arrive at the Trevi Fountain for photos and the traditional coin toss. Your guide will suggest the calmest viewpoints to avoid the busiest clusters of tourists.
Tips from local experts:
- The paved area around the fountain can be crowded; ask the guide to stop at a slightly offset vantage point where wheelchair/stroller access is easier.
- For best photos without heavy crowds, stand slightly left of the fountain — the guide will advise and may move the cart closer to that side.
- Restroom: there are accessible restrooms a short walk away; if you're unsure, request the guide to escort you for minimal walking.
Scenic return drive (Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna) and drop-off
Relax on a scenic drive past the Spanish Steps and elegant shopping streets as we return to the meeting point for drop-off. The driver will offer a gentle stroll or doorstep drop-off according to your mobility needs.
Tips from local experts:
- If you want a short look at the Spanish Steps, ask the guide to stop where the cart can safely park — be aware the Steps themselves have many stairs, so stepping onto them is optional.
- Request a doorstep drop-off if you have limited mobility; the guide can usually get quite close to hotel entrances in the centre.
- Keep any small purchases or mobility aids within reach; the guide will help lift or store items into the cart’s secure compartment if needed.
