Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day scenic drive from Bariloche to San Martín de los Andes via Villa La Angostura and the Seven Lakes route, returning to Bariloche the same day.
Ruta Nacional 40 (approach toward San Martín de los Andes)
Depart Bariloche by private vehicle and begin the scenic drive along National Route 237 / Ruta Nacional 40 heading toward San Martín de los Andes. This segment covers open highway and lakeside road views; the guide will provide orientation and brief roadside viewpoint stops as appropriate.

- Choose a window seat on the right/left depending on the side you prefer for lake views; ask the guide at boarding for the best side.
- Bring a light jacket: winds off the lakes can feel cooler during drives even on warm days.
- If you get motion sick on winding roads, take medication before departure — roads are mountainous and include curves.
Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi — roadside viewpoints
Drive through the protected area of Nahuel Huapi National Park with stops at designated viewpoints near the road to appreciate lake and forest panoramas. Short, guided photo stops and short walks (flat, <10 minutes) only — no long hikes on this tour.

- Stay on the marked areas near the road during stops; some lakeshore edges are uneven and not suited for long walks.
- Apply sunscreen and sunglasses — UV reflects strongly off water surfaces even under partial cloud cover.
- Public restroom facilities are limited along this stretch; use facilities in towns before re-entering the park when available.
Villa La Angostura — short town break
Short stop in Villa La Angostura for a restroom break and time to stretch. Guests can buy coffee or a light snack and enjoy a short stroll near the town center before continuing along the Seven Lakes route.

- For a quick walk, head to Avenida Arrayanes (the town's main street) where cafes and shops are concentrated.
- Carry a small amount of cash (Argentine pesos) for small vendors; most cafes accept cards but small purchases sometimes prefer cash.
- Use the town center restrooms before continuing — services become more limited on the Seven Lakes section.
Ruta 40 — Camino de los 7 Lagos (Seven Lakes Route)
Drive the iconic Seven Lakes section of Ruta 40. The guide will stop at several lakeshore viewpoints (short stops) so guests can take photos and enjoy the forested lakesides. This is the main scenic portion of the tour.

- Stops are brief—have camera and footwear ready to step out quickly for photos on uneven ground.
- Wear closed shoes if you plan to step onto short forest trails near lake edges; some terrain can be damp or rocky.

San Martín de los Andes — arrival and brief visit, then return to Bariloche
Arrive at the shores of Lake Lácar in San Martín de los Andes for a guided short visit to the town shoreline area and main viewpoints. After the stop in San Martín we begin the return drive to Bariloche following the same route.

- Expect a short lakeside visit in San Martín; larger meals are not included — plan lunch timing accordingly or use local cafes in town.
- Pickup and drop-off service covers central Bariloche hotels and hotels up to KM 8 of Avenida Bustillo — confirm your hotel name and exact pickup point in advance.
- If you plan to continue exploring Bariloche after return, Avenida Mitre is the downtown strip for restaurants and shops; ATMs and currency exchange are on Moren o / Moreno-area streets.
