Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day private transfer and guided walking tour of Teotihuacan with hotel/airport pickup and drop-off in Mexico City.
Pickup at your Accommodation
Private pickup from your hotel, airport or desired meeting point in Mexico City. Driver and guide will confirm exact pickup location in advance.
Tips from local experts:
- Be in the hotel lobby 5–10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time and have your full hotel address and room number ready for the driver.
- If your pickup is at Mexico City’s AIFA airport or in distant neighborhoods (for example far southwest areas), inform the operator in advance — an extra charge applies for some remote pickups.
- Tell the guide/driver about any mobility limitations or medical needs before pickup so the route and pace can be adjusted.
1 Hour Transfer
Private, air-conditioned transfer from Mexico City to the Teotihuacan archaeological zone. Travel time is typically about 1 hour in the morning but can vary with traffic.
Tips from local experts:
- Travel time varies by traffic — use the transfer time to rest; keep any essential medication or mobility aids in the vehicle with you.
- If you need a quick restroom break en route, tell the driver; a short stop can be arranged before arrival.
- Carry a light layer for the vehicle (air conditioning can feel cool) and keep a water bottle accessible for the walk when you arrive.
Walking Tour at Teotihuacan Pyramids
Guided walking tour of the Teotihuacan Archaeological Site. The guide will visit key areas within a maximum on-site time of 3 hours: Site Museum, the Citadel, Temple of the Feathered Serpent (Quetzalcóatl), Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon, Roadway of the Dead, Quetzalpapalotl Palace and Patio of the Jaguars. The guide will adapt the pace and routing to reduce prolonged standing or steep climbs if needed.
Tips from local experts:
- The site has uneven surfaces and some steep steps; ask the guide to avoid pyramid ascents if you prefer less climbing — the guide can point out highlights from ground level.
- Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen) and a refillable water bottle; the guide will schedule regular short rests and shaded pauses during the 3-hour walk.
- Entry tickets to the archaeological site are included; keep small items secure and use comfortable, supportive footwear for walking on loose gravel and dirt paths.
1 Hour 30 Minutes Transfer Back to Mexico City
Return transfer to Mexico City. Duration can vary from about 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on traffic; driver will return you to the agreed drop-off location.
Tips from local experts:
- Return travel time depends on traffic; use this time to relax in the climate-controlled vehicle — reclining seats and a short rest can help after walking.
- If you would like a short stop on the way back (for example, to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe), tell your guide in advance — this is optional and can be arranged if time permits.
- Keep any items you’ll need immediately on arrival (medication, phone, wallet) accessible rather than packed in the luggage area.
Drop off at your Accomodation or desired location
Drop-off at your hotel or desired drop-off point in Mexico City. Driver and guide will confirm the exact drop-off address and help with luggage as needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm the preferred drop-off address with the guide before leaving the vehicle, especially if your hotel has a specific entrance or restricted access zone.
- If you were picked up from a remote neighborhood, reconfirm any special arrangements (remotely located hotels, gated communities) so the driver can access the drop-off point.
- Ask the guide for a short written receipt or the company contact details before leaving the vehicle in case you need follow-up information.
