Itinerary
Day 1
Morning workshop in the garden studio. Arrive on location at 132 Konstantinou Palaiologou Street in Sparta for a 10:00 start.
What you will be doing.
Three-hour instructor-led mosaic workshop in an open-air garden studio. Participants learn the direct method, use stone tesserae to complete an approximately 20 x 20 cm mosaic, and receive instruction on tools, adhesives and colouring tints. The history of mosaics will be discussed during the session. A refreshment is provided and there is an open-air gift shop in the studio garden.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes early and check in at Mosaic Art Greece, Garden entrance — the studio is at Konstantinou Palaiologou 132 in central Sparta; look for the garden entrance sign.
- Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting adhesive or pigments on; bring a light long-sleeve layer for morning breeze — the workshop is outdoors under shade but tools and materials are used at bench height.
- The session is social and best enjoyed with friends: arrive together if you're a group and request adjacent workstations when you check in; bring a phone or camera for progress photos (natural light in the garden is ideal).
