Itinerary
Day 1
Introductory session in Nishiasakusa where you learn a traditional Japanese writing style and have your chosen characters printed on a garment to take home.
Try Japanese traditional writing style & Make original Hoodie!
Meet at the studio in Nishiasakusa. The session includes a short introduction to the historical background and technique of Japanese calligraphy, hands-on practice (brush, ink, paper), selecting the characters or phrase you want, and printing your chosen writing onto a T-shirt or hoodie to take away.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start to check in and choose your garment size — the studio operates on a tight schedule and the session begins promptly.
- Wear clothing you don’t mind getting faint ink on; while protective measures are used, light splashes can occur during practice.
- The studio is not wheelchair accessible and has stairs — if mobility is limited, plan accordingly and notify the operator in advance.
