Itinerary
Day 1
Pickup in Thessaloniki and private transfer visiting Edessa (Karanos waterfall), Pozar Thermal Baths, and Orma village before returning to Thessaloniki.
Pickup from Thessaloniki & visit Edessa (Karanos waterfall)
Driver collects you from your hotel/apartment in Thessaloniki and transfers to Edessa. Walk the viewpoints around the Karanos waterfall, enjoy the water curtain views and pause for coffee or a light snack at a nearby café beside the falls.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes — paths and viewpoints near the waterfall can be wet and stepped.
- Carry a light jacket for cooler temperatures near the falls even on warm days; mist from the waterfall can feel chilly.
- If you plan to sit at a café by the waterfall, ask for an outside table with the view when you arrive (tables can fill quickly on busy days).
Pozar Thermal Springs (Loutra Pozar) – soak and relax
Transfer from Edessa to the Pozar Thermal Springs in the foothills of Mount Kaimaktsalan. Time to use the thermal pools and walk the shaded paths around the springs. Note: entry to the public/private pools is not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops; there are changing facilities but bring your own towel if you prefer.
- The main thermal pool water temperature is naturally warm (~37°C); limit first-time soaks to 15–20 minutes and rehydrate with bottled water provided on the vehicle.
- Secure valuables in the vehicle or locked bags – public changing areas can be busy; keep any needed cash/cards in a small waterproof pouch.
Orma village — lunch or coffee at the plaza
Short transfer to the traditional village of Orma for a relaxed lunch of Greek dishes or a coffee under the trees at the village square. Time allocated for a leisurely meal and a short stroll through the village.
