Itinerary
Day 1
Short loop hike at Tamarin Falls (Seven Cascades). Sample schedule for the 08:30 start; an identical structure applies to the 13:00 start with times shifted accordingly.
Meeting point — Thomson Adventures parking
Meet your licensed guide at the Thomson Adventures (Seven Cascades) parking area for a short safety briefing and introduction before the walk.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes before the start time to complete check-in with the guide and to load small personal items into a group bag if provided.
- Bring a photocopy/photo of your booking confirmation on your phone for faster check-in and let the guide know of any medical issues.
- Wear hiking shoes and have any swimsuits/towels ready in a small daypack (swimsuit and towel are not provided).
Forest trail walk
Begin the guided walk through lush tropical forest, following natural trails alongside rivers and native vegetation.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep group pace—friends should pair up so no one gets left behind on narrower trail sections.
- Bring a small refillable water bottle; there is no guaranteed potable water supply on the trail.
- Use a light daypack and secure phones/cameras in waterproof cases—some sections can be damp and slippery.
First & second waterfalls — viewpoints
Short stops at scenic viewpoints for the first and second waterfalls; time for photos and a brief rest.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a small distance from cliff edges and follow guide instructions for safe photo spots.
- If sharing photos on social media, avoid disturbing wildlife or removing vegetation for a shot.
- Pack a lightweight windbreaker—spray from falls can make cameras and phones wet; a microfiber cloth helps dry lenses.
Third waterfall & hidden cave
Continue to the third waterfall and (with guide supervision) explore a small hidden cave located near the falls.
Tips from local experts:
- Follow the guide closely when entering the cave; bring a small torch (phone flashlight is fine) for low-light areas.
- Wear shoes with a good grip—the path to the cave can be uneven and slippery when wet.
- If you have claustrophobia or mobility limits, inform the guide—the team can offer an alternative viewpoint without entering the cave.
Natural fish pedicure pool — short break
Relax at a clear natural pool where small fish nibble at feet for a natural fish pedicure experience; brief rest and refreshments if carried by guests.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring flip-flops or water shoes you can remove—bare feet are needed for the fish pedicure but protect feet when walking on rocks.
- Avoid applying sunscreen or lotions right before entering the pool—these can affect the water and the fish.
- Keep belongings on higher, dry rock ledges; the guide can suggest a safe spot to leave valuables while you enjoy the pool.
Fourth waterfall — swimming time
Arrive at the fourth waterfall and enjoy a supervised swim in the natural pool, weather and water conditions permitting.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a towel and swimsuit (not provided); store clothes in a dry bag while swimming and leave valuables with the guide.
- Enter the water slowly—check depth and current with the guide before fully swimming; avoid deep sections if unsure of your swim ability.
- Use biodegradable sunscreen to reduce impact on the natural pool; local conditions can change after heavy rain, so follow guide updates.
Return walk & final photos
Easy walk back to the starting point with time for final photos, questions, and a short debrief with the guide.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a steady pace on the return—friends may want to swap cameras or collect group photos on the way back.
- Check footwear for trapped stones before getting into any vehicle; a quick brush-off prevents discomfort on the drive.
- Confirm any arranged optional hotel drop-off with the guide before leaving the meeting area (hotel pick-up/drop-off is listed as optional in the booking).
