Where we will walk a 3 km (2 miles) circuit with 16 bridges ranging from 5 to 100 meters (16 to 328 ft.) and up to 60 meters high (196 ft.). The second part of this combo tour takes place in our zipline park, Arenal Canopy Adventure. Biking Tour Around Arenal Lake
Cycling is the second most practiced sport in Costa Rica, after soccer. Speaking specifically of mountain biking; the characteristics of our geography, the great extension of rural areas, and the scenic beauty of the roads allow us to have some of the best routes in the world. On this tour, we will travel a low-traffic route for approximately 8 miles (13 km) each way. The two main attractions of the area, the majestic Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal will give us incredible views on either side, as we cross picturesque towns, forests, and streams.It is important to highlight that you do NOT need to be an expert cyclist for this tour. The tour is an excellent combination of nature and recreational, non-competitive sport; however, we can adapt the route to your desired difficulty level and extend the tour to a little more than 8 miles (13 km) if needed. The Río Frío River descends from the outskirts of the Tenorio Volcano and continues to the northern region of Nicaragua. The river is used by the Maleku natives for transportation and as a food source. In addition, it is of vital hydric importance for crop irrigation and soil mineralization in the area. Rafting Class 4 level is recommended for paddlers with some experience, people able to swim and float on a rapid in case of need it. The Caño Negro wildlife refuge was declared in 1991 as one of the RAMSAR sites of world importance for the preservation of ecosystems and aquifers, also declared by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve in 2007.
