Three hours, usually 4 to 6 snowmobiles in the group, daytime light, and real Lapland terrain — a relaxed pace that works whether you've been on a snowmobile before or not.We start from our base in Sinettä, 20 minutes north of Rovaniemi and away from the busier tourist trails. After a warm welcome and a proper briefing — weather, conditions, how the snowmobile works, how we ride as a group — we head out. The first stretch is the training session, but you're already riding. We start slow, make sure everyone feels comfortable, and pick up the pace as the group settles in.The route is a mix: forest trails winding between snow-loaded spruce, open sections across frozen lakes, climbs to viewpoints, softer snow where it's safe to play a little. We take breaks along the way for hot drinks, photos, and whatever the day happens to offer — snow, scenery, animal tracks, sometimes a reindeer in the distance.If you're two on a double snowmobile, you can switch drivers at the breaks. Children and anyone under 140 cm ride in the covered, insulated sledge behind the guide. Your guide takes photos and short videos during the tour and shares the whole batch with the group by email afterwards.The snowmobiles are BRP Lynx, built in Rovaniemi. Our guides ride these forests every day. The group stays small. Three hours, small group of usually 4 to 6 snowmobiles, from our base in Sinettä, 20 minutes north of Rovaniemi — well away from city lights and busier tourist trails.We start with a warm welcome at our base at 19:00, a proper briefing, and a chance to step inside and get warm. Then we get you kitted out with thermal overalls, boots, helmet and gloves and head out. The first stretch is the training section, but you're already riding. We start slow, make sure everyone feels comfortable on the machine, and pick up the pace as the group settles in.Our destination is a private hill we know well — a vantage point above the treeline, with open views in every direction. At the top is our own kota, a traditional Lappish hut with an open fire in the middle. We grill sausages over the flames, pour a hot drink, and spend a good while there: stepping outside to watch the sky, stepping back in to warm up. The kota is ours, so when we're there, we're on our own.The Northern Lights are never a guarantee, anywhere in Lapland. They depend on solar activity and a clear sky, and both are out of our control. What we can do is give them the best chance: a dark sky, an open horizon, and time to let your eyes adjust. If they appear, you'll be in the right place. If they don't, you've still had a real evening in the Arctic.The snowmobiles are BRP Lynx, built in Rovaniemi. The group stays small, the guide stays with you the whole evening, and your guide takes photos and short videos and emails them to you afterwards.Good to know: Tour conducted in English. Drivers must be at least 20 years old with a valid Category B driving licence. Children welcome from age 8 in the covered sleigh. Optional pickup from central Rovaniemi 20€/person.
