As we navigate the history of a 200,000+ collective, we'll explore the neighborhoods of Once, Tribunales and Retiro. We'll go beyond religious tradition as we explore how politics and the broad history of Argentina shaped and made it's Jewish population into what it is today. Throughout our action-packed tour, we'll see AMIA, known as "the mother institution" of Jewish life in Argentina, which was targeted by a terrorist attack in the 90s, and visit the Jewish Museum and Libertad Synagogue. We will explore Once, a Jewish neighborhood and bulk trading district, strolling through synagogues, quinceañera party supply shops and fabric vendors. We will go to what we call "Diversity Corner": a place where just by standing 5 minutes, you'll witness all the diversity BA can showcase. We'll discuss the "cryptojews" who escaped the European Inquisition by coming to Latin America, and how the population became organized as waves of Jewish immigrants entered the country in the late 1800s. You'll hear about the Jewish Gauchos, the only American Pogrom, the communist heritage of the URRS Jews, the "disappeared" of the last Argentine dictatorship and the challenges faced today by our community.

Join us for a day trip to one of the New Natural Wonders of the World: the Iguazu Falls.In the middle of the Misiones jungle, nested between a lush forest full of coaties, monkeys and colorful birds, lies one of the largest and most dramatic waterfall complexes in the world. Join us for a culinary adventure into the soul of traditional Buenos Aires cooking: the bodegón. The bodegón is the traditional porteño restaurant where the European immigrants brought their traditions and shape-shifted them to adjust to this new land. During this private cooking lesson we’ll learn how to prepare empanadas, tortilla, milanesas con fideos and flan. Our experience, which will be led by a local restaurant owner, will be paired with wine and vermouth, and lots of fun storytelling and teaching moments about culinary techniques.

We will start our day at a historic space getting to know each other and presenting the Buenos Aires for Kids booklet, which is packed with challenges and games for us to do during the day. We will start with our first challenge: preparing the local infusion called mate paired with some sweet pastries.Then, we’re off to explore San Telmo before heading to the colorful immigrant port of La Boca. After this, we’re off to Puerto Madero, where we’ll cross the Woman’s Bridge before climbing the steps to check out the Presidential square Plaza de Mayo. Here we’ll see soldiers from the colonial times and talk about the weird Pink House where Argentina’s president works. Finally, we’re off to the spooky Recoleta Cemetery, to talk about art, architecture… and ghosts!

What is a porteño? The traditional narrative is that a porteño is Italian or Spanish and deeply influenced by their European roots. However, although European immigration flattened post WWII, internal immigration from Latin America took its place. The contemporary food scene is reflective of that. Dive into the city’s European aesthetic exploring some of the most fascinating buildings and works of art of Argentina’s Gilded Age. In this tour, we will approach how Buenos Aires ended up having the “nickname of the Paris of South America” and why that’s a controversial name. We will start at the Retiro area where we’ll talk about the Generation of the 80s and how it brought about a francophile era to the country. Welcome to our trippy tour though Palermo!Our day will start at El Joint Club, one of Argentina's first medical marijuana dispenaries. Here, our guide will introduce you to the brand new legislation that allows tourists to carry medical marijuana cards (which we'll help issue before the tour and will be valid throughout your entire stay!) so that you know your rights, as well as the long history of struggles to finally achieve this landmark legislation.Then, we will try one of the club's hydroponic strains while we tour around the club, checking out its growing rooms and dispensary. After trying another strain we're on our way to explore Palermo. First we'll walk to the Mercado de las Pulgas, where we'll check out their street art scene and stop at a traditional ice cream shop to try one of their ice creams.We'll then continue walking through Palermo towards the Soho area, where we'll finish up with a gourmet choripan.
