Bridge on the River Kwai & Death Railway Historic Tour
The name 'Bridge on the River Kwai' is a well known British/American war movie based on the thousands of POW's and forced labourers who lost their lives in the Second World War building the infamous bridge and the tracks of, what would become known as, the Death Railway. This full day guided tour from Bangkok includes touching visits to a small war museum and a POW cemetery. The day will also consist of an exhilarating long-tailed speedboat ride, a walk across the Bridge and a ride along the tracks of the Death Railway on a local train.Spend a day exploring historic sites throughout the Mueang region as you learn about WWII and POW labor camps. Travel by road, river, and railway as you visit a prisoner cemetery, examine exhibits at the JEATH Museum, and see the span made famous by Bridge on the River Kwai.Start your day with early hotel pickup and head toward the Mueang region. Along the way, listen as your guide shares stories about the POW camps during WWII, and stop at a cemetery where 6,000 prisoners are interred. At the nearby JEATH War Museum, maintained by the local monks, learn about the harsh realities of war and observe mementos that were left behind.Afterward, head upstream along the Mae Klong River in a long-tail speedboat towards Bridge 277, the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai that inspired the book and movie of the same name. Walk along the bridge, check out local street markets, and then climb aboard a train to travel along the Burma Railway. Also known as the Death Railway, this section of track is particularly known for its dangerous construction, built along the edges of cliffs and through deep sections of forest. At the end of the day, disembark the train and take a walk through the jungle to reach a nearby restaurant where you can discuss the day's experiences over a delicious lunch. Muay Thai Boxing at Patong Boxing Stadium
With this booking you will experience the incredible atmosphere of real Muay Thai at the biggest stadium in Southern Thailand. Few national sports are as highly revered as Muay Thai is. With no other type of martial art being as captivating and entertaining as Muay Thai, there is no doubt you will be in for a fantastic evening here.
Thai kickboxing, better known as 'Muay Thai', is a traditional art of self defence that dates back hundreds of years. 'Muay Thai' is different from Western boxing in its range of offensive and defensive blows, making it more taxing and challenging to the boxer. Moreover, cultural and psychological elements are added to 'Muay Thai' to make it a true art, with the boxer performing a traditional “paying respect to the teachers” ritual, or Wai Khru ceremony, complete with rousing Thai music accompaniment before the bout.
Watching Thai boxing is like entering the minds of everyday Thais to see their values and life philosophies concerning matters like respect for elders, love of grace, bravery, creativity and adaptability. This whole mix of a unique form of martial arts and cultural elements is what makes for the fascination of 'Muay Thai' and explains its popularity worldwide.
With several bouts during the evening and your choice of seating (Stadium, Ringside or VIP), this will be an experience beyond you're wildest dreams! You certainly don't have to be a regular boxing fanatic to be overwhelmed by the emotions you'll draw from attending the Number 1 stadium in Southern Thailand and seeing real 'Muay Thai' (not choreographed Muay Thai manufactured for tourists)

Departing from your hotel in Chiang Mai around 9.00am., a stop will be made at a local market along the way. Here you will have a chance to buy ingredients to do some cooking at the village for dinner.
You will be welcomed by a local villager and taken for a very interesting look around, including their lovely views of the beautiful scenery below. The village is 1,300 meters above sea level with an average temperature of 10-18 C throughout the year. Doi Tung & Royal Villa
The name Doi Tung means ‘Flag Peak’, where Tung comes from the Northern Thai word for flag. In the past, the forest area around Doi Tung was destroyed by shifting slash-and-burn cultivation. Opium implantation was once common all over Doi Tung. In 1987 the Doi Tung Development Project was established according to the King’s Mother initiative. Opium cultivation has been virtually eliminated following a Royal Crop Substitution Project. A visit is made at Mae Fah Luang Gardens and Royal Villa.
Drive further up to Wat Phra Thad Doi Tung on the mountain peak, regarded as the holiest sanctuary by the residents of Chiang Rai and nearby provinces. The Wat was built in A.D. 911 and it is believed that the left collarbone of Lord Buddha is enshrined in the twin pagodas. The legend says Phraya Achutarat (King of Chiang Saen) marked the spot where the twin pagodas were constructed and ordered a giant flag to be flown from the peak of the mountain. Evidence of this (a big hole for a flag pole) is still can be seen in the temple area.

Drive up the hill to the best vantage point for a magnificent view of the beautiful coastline of Hua Hin.
One of the highlights of the tour will be going to the temple of Wat Huay Mongkol which houses the enormous statue of Luang Phor Thuad. Luang Phor Thuad is a legendary Thai monk revered for his enlightenment and ability to perform miracles. The statue, which can be seen from miles away, has him sitting in the meditation pose. You will stay here for approximately 30 minutes.
Wine lovers especially will shine to this next destination on the tour's itinerary, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard. Not only is it special because is the first and only farm in Hua Hin district. It is special because it is on the beach which used to be home to wild elephants. Therefore, soil and climate conditions are perfect for the growth of a wide variety of grapes – Columbard, Chenin blanc, Shiraz, Brunello and other 20 species. A complimentary welcome drink, grape juice of course, will be served. However, guests will have the opportunity to do some wine tasting (own expense) should they wish. The best time to visit is February/March when it is harvest time.
After roughly one hour here you will move onto Plearnwan. Plearnwan is a delightful, small open-air mall with some shops in a somewhat imitated setting of previous times.

Muangboran: Thailand’s Ancient City in Bangkok
Muangboran is an outdoor museum covering an enormous 96 hectares, or 240 acres. The creator has painstakingly built over 100 scaled models or replicas of ancient ruins, buildings, monuments and more from all over Thailand. The periods of these ancient ruins and monuments cover the Dvaravati, Srivichai, Lopburi, Lanna, Lan Chang, Sukhothai, U-tong, Ayutthaya, Thonburi and Rattanakosin eras.
The attention to detail and the accuracy shows that amount of effort that was put into reconstructing the structures. In many cases the originals were completely, or mostly, destroyed so reconstruction largely depended on historical records and research.
Muangboran is a cross section of Ancient Siam all in one location that can be covered in a day! You can go from magnificent Dusit Maha Prasat Palace in the Grand Palace, Bangkok to the ruins of the Main Chedi of Wat Maha That to the Ayutthaya's 17th century Sanphet Prasat Palace to ruins and palaces from the Hariphunchai Kingdom about 1000 years before it became Northern Thailand and so much more.
Included in the price of this entry Ticket is use of the Tram. The Tram, which runs once an hour for most hours of the day (except Bank Holidays and Public Holidays), will begin with a minimum of 10 people. Also included in the Ticket price is use of a bicycle should you wish to use it to get around. (Five people golf buggies are available at an additional cost).
This special price is available to foreigners only, with free entry to those under 6 years.

Muay Thai - Our Unique and Highly Revered National Sport
Muay Thai is a National Sport that is regarded with great respect and tinged with awe like few others. The combination of reverence and heritage mixed with the excitement and thrills of real, professional Thai boxing bouts makes this is an entertaining night you'll never forget.
At the beginning of each match, fighters enter the ring to perform the traditional rituals of Wai Khrun (paying respect to their trainers) and Ram Muay (warming up, and showing off, their bodies) to the sound of drums, flutes, and crashing symbols. This hypnotic music then continues during the bout, although it cannot drown out the crowd's whistles and shouts and banters as they urge on their favorite fighter.
Muay Thai is referred to as “The Art of Eight Limbs”, as the hands, shins, elbows and knees are the eight points of contact used extensively, as opposed to in the west where only two fists are used in a match.
It has often been said that watching a Muay Thai fight is a must-do for every sports fan looking for a real Thai experience.
Choose from Grand Stand seating, Ringside seating and VIP Extra seating at Chiang Mai's biggest and best boxing stadium, the only stadium to have indoor air-conditioning plus a sound system. To make the evening perfect for you, return hotel transportation is included in the tour cost.

Monks Morning Almsgiving Tour (Food Offering)
Be picked up from your hotel in Mae Hong Son early in the morning to be driven to the market area. Apart from the usual household items and foodstuffs there, you will find an array of snacks popular with the Thai people - fried insects. For Thai people, a bag of fried insects is no different to how people in the West would think of bag of crisps, however, they do have an edge over crisps in terms of nutritious value. If you want to take this time for a fun photo op to show your friends back home, probably the most approachable insect in this 'mind-over-matter' scenario is a fried grasshopper, as they are the least gooey. The more daring might prefer Red Ants, Silk Worms, Bamboo Worms, Red Ant Eggs, Crickets, Mini Crickets or even Scorpions to try. On the other hand, you may be quite content to have your photo taken simply standing next to the Vendor and his cart of bugs.
Continue to the main road and wait to see locals offering food to the monks. You may have made a small purchase in the market to give to the monk yourself. Your guide will tell you how to give the monk an offering. Monks are not allowed to buy or request for food, being one of the 227 rules the monks live by, so the locals will offer food, such as glutinous rice, to the procession of monks each morning.

An Authentic Samui Experience
Avoid the crowds and conscientiously explore the cultural landscape of the island from a local perspective during An Authentic Samui Experience.
The aim is to provide an island tour experience beyond compare!
The early start allows for a great chance to spot the monks walking barefoot through the neighborhood while the local people make merit by offering them food. It also provides the opportunity to avoid the noisy crowds that form later in the day so you're visiting the local temples at a more solitary, reflective hour.
Take the chance to relish the beauty of the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem Temples as they should be: in peace. Make an exclusive visit to the Hinta Hinyai (Grandmother & Grandfather Rocks). An advantage in doing this tour is that you'll be with a local guide who can help you explore parts of the island that many other tourists wouldn't know even existed.
This tour also gives superb photo opportunities. Capture uninterrupted and gorgeous photos of some of the most significant sites on the island and, hopefully, one or two unexpected hidden gems too.
It is especially great for 1st timers to Samui in need of a half day Introduction to the island to see so much of what the island has to offer!

The Best of Damnoen Saduak (Floating) & Maeklong (Railway) Market
Maeklong Market is a unique, 'must-see attraction' that should be on every visitor's itinerary. It is called 'Risky Market' because there is a train track that runs directly through the middle of the market. Literally within seconds of the train passing through the market vendors have to pull their goods, and themselves, out of the way. The precision timings and movements of everyone involved are fascinating to witness. The second market on this itinerary is at the floating market at Damnoen Saduak. Whilst it is authentic and still used by locals, due to its popularity, it has become busy with tourists.
