Itinerary

Day 1

Full-day guided snorkeling trip with transfers from Dubai, boat snorkel at Sandy Beach (Fujairah), BBQ lunch, and two scenic stops on the return to Dubai.

Pickup, transfer to Fujairah and snorkelling + BBQ at Sandy Beach

06:00 – 10:30 • 4h 30m

Pickup from your Dubai hotel lobby (exact pickup time confirmed the day before). Transfer to Sandy Beach, Fujairah, board the luxury dive boat for guided snorkeling aimed at spotting turtles and other marine life. Return to shore for a BBQ lunch and short rest before the return drive.

Sandy Beach, Fujairah

Tips from local experts:

  • Wear lightweight swimwear under loose clothing for an easy change before boarding; towels and swimwear are not provided so bring your own.
  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a small dry bag for valuables; the guide will brief on safety and entry/exit procedures.
  • Expect the operator to confirm an exact hotel lobby pickup time the day before; be ready 10 minutes before the confirmed pickup.

Khorfakkan Waterfall - short stop

10:50 – 12:10 • 1h 20m

On the drive back toward Dubai the vehicle stops for a short visit at the Khorfakkan Waterfall viewpoint to stretch legs and take photos.

Al Mudaifi, Khorfakkan

Tips from local experts:

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes; the viewpoint involves short, uneven paths and some steps.
  • Carry a light jacket or cover-up — coastal breezes can be cooler than Dubai city temperatures.
  • Keep personal belongings with you and use small bags; parking and viewpoint areas can be exposed to sun.

Khorfakkan Amphitheatre viewpoint

12:25 – 13:10 • 45m

Quick stop to view the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre and surrounding coastline — a popular photo point on the return route to Dubai.

Rugaylat Rd - Al Mudaifi, Sharjah

Tips from local experts:

  • Arrive with your camera ready; the stop is brief so plan a quick photo and return.
  • There is limited shade; if travelling with sensitive skin bring sun protection for a short exposure.
  • Follow guides' directions for safe parking and walking routes — areas near viewpoints can be uneven.

Why this experience

You're not staying in Dubai for this one—you're driving east to Fujairah, where the UAE meets the coast without the glitter. Snoopy Island and Sandy Beach are where the turtles live. You're gearing up in a wetsuit, checking your mask, and entering water that's warmer and gentler than the Gulf's open sea. Within minutes, you're face-to-face with sea turtles moving through their world like they've forgotten you're there. They're ancient, unhurried, and completely beautiful. You're swimming alongside something alive that's been on Earth far longer than cities or buildings.

By late morning, you're back on shore, salt in your hair, adrenaline still moving through your system. The BBQ is smoking. Fresh fish, grilled vegetables, bread, and cold drinks appear. You eat sitting near the water, still buzzing from the swim, completely removed from Dubai's intensity.

Before you go

  • Best time: November through April—water temperature is warm enough for snorkeling (around 23-28°C), and seas are calm. Avoid summer (June-September) when water heats to uncomfortable levels and currents strengthen.
  • Budget: Check the booking widget for current tour pricing. Snorkeling tours with transfer and lunch typically fall in the mid-range category.
  • Difficulty: Moderate—swimming ability is required, and snorkeling with a mask/fins takes brief practice. No diving required; all swimming is in shallow water.
  • What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen (apply before and after water time), waterproof camera if you want underwater photos, cash for any additional purchases.
  • Getting there: Hotel pickup from Dubai (about 45 minutes to Fujairah). The operator handles all driving and logistics.
  • Accessibility: Swimming ability is necessary. Discuss any concerns about water confidence or mobility in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to swim with turtles? Yes. Turtles are gentle and not interested in harming humans. You're observing them in their habitat; they largely ignore you. The experience is passive from their perspective.

What if I'm not a strong swimmer? The snorkeling is in shallow water, and you'll be wearing a life vest. Let the operator know your swimming level when booking; they'll ensure your safety and comfort.

How close do you get to the turtles? Usually within a few meters. They're moving at their own pace, and you're moving at yours. Sometimes closer, sometimes at a distance—it depends on the turtles' mood that day.
