Khao Thong in 1 Day for Friends - Guided kayak through Ao Thalane mangroves and limestone canyon

Half-day small-group adventure: pickup from Ao Nang, a scenic drive to Ao Thalane, a 2-hour guided mangrove kayak (5–7 km), short refreshment stop, then an off-road ATV ride through local jungle and plantations before return to Ao Nang. Includes kayak equipment, waterproof bag, life jacket, company vehicle transport, a 30-minute ATV drive and admission fees. Lunch is not included.

Itinerary
Day 1
Pickup in Ao Nang, transfer to Ao Thalane for a 2-hour kayak through mangroves, short refreshment, 30-minute ATV ride in nearby jungle trails, return to Ao Nang.
Pickup & transfer — Ao Nang to Ao Thalane
Meet at your Ao Nang pickup point. Company vehicle collects guests in the Ao Nang area and drives to the Ao Thalane kayak launch (approx. 30–40 minutes). Brief safety talk and equipment fitting on arrival before the paddle.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready at your confirmed Ao Nang pickup location 10 minutes early — drivers leave on schedule.
- Wear quick-dry clothing and shoes that can get wet; you’ll be seated in the vehicle during the ~30–40 minute transfer.
- Bring a small amount of cash for personal items or a post-activity snack (lunch is not included).
Atv & kayak
Arrive at Ao Thalane launch for a safety briefing and kayak fitting, then paddle through the Ao Thalane inlet and mangrove channels. Paddling distance is typically 5–7 km over about 2 hours with a short swim/stop in a sheltered spot. After returning to the launch, enjoy fresh watermelon, then transfer a short distance to the ATV staging area for a 30-minute guided off-road ride through jungle, palm and coconut plantations. Finish with return transfer to Ao Nang.
Tips from local experts:
- Stow small electronics and valuables in the supplied waterproof bag; use a phone strap or leave valuables in the vehicle during kayaking.
- Expect uneven and bumpy ATV tracks—wear closed-toe shoes and sunglasses/goggles to keep dust out during the ride.
- Inform the guide before departure of any recent injuries or medical conditions listed in the activity notes (pregnancy, heart/back issues) so they can adjust placement or assistance.
