Itinerary
Day 1
Meet in Shibuya and follow a planned route visiting Tokyo’s iconic car-culture spots; timings assume the 19:00 start (3.5 hours total).
Shibuya Crossing
Meeting point and first photo stop at the famous Shibuya Crossing. Short safety briefing and seat assignments before departure.
Tips from local experts:
- Meet at the pedestrian area on the Shibuya Crossing near the station exits so the group can assemble quickly.
- Keep valuables secure in your bag while in the busy crossing area; light backpacks are easiest to manage.
- Wear comfortable shoes — this is a short stand-and-photo stop (10 minutes) before boarding the vehicle.
Tokyo tower
Quick photo stop near Tokyo Tower for night views as the drive continues along city expressways.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep cameras ready for night shots; brief stops allow window-down photos but remain seated while vehicle is moving.
- There will be limited time (approx. 10 minutes) — request to step out only if the guide confirms a safe pull-over spot.
- Hold on to small items tightly during photo stops; wind from passing vehicles can dislodge loose items.
Rainbow Bridge
Drive across Rainbow Bridge with short scenic stop for skyline photos (views of Tokyo Tower and Skytree possible).
Tips from local experts:
- Expect a brief scenic pull-over for photos; remain with the group and follow the guide’s instructions for safe picture-taking.
- Windows may fog or reflect at night—position cameras close to the glass or plan quick exterior shots when safe.
- Be prepared for city breeze on the bridge; a light jacket can make the short outdoor stop more comfortable.
Super Autobacs Shinonome (When tour starts before 9pm)
If the tour starts before 21:00, stop at Super Autobacs Shinonome for a short visit to see tuning parts, car goods, and a coffee option inside the shop.
Tips from local experts:
- This stop is brief (about 15 minutes) — plan to focus on highlights (accessories, apparel) rather than exhaustive shopping.
- There is a Starbucks inside the Super Autobacs shop — ideal for a quick coffee during the visit.
- Keep purchases compact; the group will re-board shortly to continue to the expressway car meet.
Daikoku PA
Enter the JDM car scene at the famous Daikoku Parking Area car meet — observe tuning culture, meet local enthusiasts, and enjoy the car gathering atmosphere.
Tips from local experts:
- Daikoku PA can be busy; follow the guide’s instructions about where to park and where to safely view the cars.
- Respect vehicle owners and do not touch cars unless explicitly invited to — many are privately modified and owners are protective of their vehicles.
- Keep a charged phone for photos; low-light conditions mean higher ISO or steady framing helps capture cleaner images.
Umihotaru PA (when daikoku pa is closed)
Alternative stop: if Daikoku PA is closed, the tour may visit Umihotaru Parking Area on the Aqua-Line as an alternative meeting/viewing point. Time is reserved in the same slot as Daikoku PA.
Tips from local experts:
- If this alternative is used, expect an elevated parking-area observation zone with night views — bring a light jacket for windier conditions.
- Facilities and food options are available at Umihotaru; use the brief visit time for quick photos or a restroom break if needed.
- Space can be limited — follow the guide’s instructions for where to safely stop and photograph the skyline.
Tatsumi PA(When tour starts after 9pm)
Alternative stop used for later starts: Tatsumi Parking Area on the expressway may be visited instead of Daikoku PA. Time reserved aligns with the main car-meet slot.
Tips from local experts:
- If Tatsumi PA is used, it’s a quick rest/observation stop — follow the guide and stay within the designated pedestrian areas.
- Tatsumi PA is primarily a roadside facility; expect limited viewing platforms — plan quick photos and return to the vehicle promptly.
- Be mindful of expressway traffic near entry/exit ramps and adhere to the guide’s safety briefings.
Shibuya crossing
End of the tour: return to Shibuya Crossing for drop-off. Short debrief and farewells.
Tips from local experts:
- Plan your onward travel in advance; the tour ends at Shibuya so allow time to reach trains or taxis if you have a late-night connection.
- If you’re meeting friends after the tour, confirm a clear meeting point because Shibuya is busy at night.
- Gather personal belongings before disembarking; double-check with the guide to ensure nothing is left in the vehicle.
