Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to check in; the shop is small and sessions start promptly.

Why this experience
Walk through Doguyasuji — Osaka's "kitchen tools street" near Namba — and every restaurant display case is filled with impossibly realistic plastic food. Shrimp tempura that looks hot, ramen with glistening broth, parfaits that could trick anyone. Now you're going to make one yourself. At Design Pocket Osaka, a workshop instructor hands you the materials and guides you through the same techniques used by professional food-sample artisans. In an hour, you walk out with a hand-made replica so convincing your friends won't believe you made it.
This is one of those experiences that works for everyone in the family. Children from around three years old can join (with a guardian), and the hands-on nature means nobody is sitting still or watching from the sidelines. The finished sample goes into a protective container for you to take home — a souvenir that's genuinely unique and entirely yours.
The Namba location means you're right in the middle of Osaka's busiest neighbourhood when you're done. Street food, shopping, Dotonbori's canal — all within walking distance.
