Itinerary

Day 1

Meet at the studio in Shinsekai / Taishi area for a 1-hour ninja training session (costume rental and studio photos included). Multiple start times are available; this itinerary shows the 10:00 session as a sample.

Ninja Experience

10:00 – 11:00 • 1h

Program includes basic ninja training (how to walk quietly), sword lesson, blowgun, shuriken (throwing-star) practice and time to spend in a ninja costume. Costume rental and facility usage are included. Sessions run approximately 1 hour. Suitable for participants aged 4 and over. Capacity: up to 8 people per session.

Wakaba Bldg., 4F 1-1-18 Taishi, Nishinari-ku, Osaka 557-0002, Japan

Tips from local experts:

  • Arrive 10 minutes before your start time to change into costume and receive a short safety briefing; the studio is on the 4th floor of Wakaba Building, so allow a little extra time for families with small children.
  • Children must be at least 4 years old to participate; bring a spare set of clothes and a small towel for kids — costume fit varies and quick changes are common.
  • The studio is located near Shinsekai (New World); if you want to continue exploring afterwards, plan for a short walk to Shinsekai or a brief transit ride to Abeno Harukas.

Why this experience

Your kids will talk about this one for months. You walk into a nondescript building in Nishinari-ku, climb to the fourth floor, and suddenly everyone is getting fitted into authentic ninja costumes — black suits, headbands, the whole look. Then the training starts. A ninja instructor teaches you how to walk silently, how to hold a sword, how to aim a blowgun and throw shuriken at targets. Each skill is demonstrated, practised, and — in the case of the blowgun — surprisingly satisfying when you hit the mark.

The session runs about an hour and fits up to eight people, which means your family isn't lost in a crowd. You can touch and examine traditional ninja weapons, take photos in full costume, and watch your children's faces when they realise they're actually throwing stars. It's physical, it's interactive, and it's the kind of experience that makes a trip to Japan feel like an adventure story instead of a museum tour.

Best for families with kids who need to move, compete, and pretend — and for parents who secretly want to try the blowgun too.
