Meeting point and check-in – Chile 1145 (Montserrat)
Arrive at the operator meeting point in front of UADE for sign-in, bike selection, helmet fitting and a short safety briefing. This is the official start and finish location.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for helmet fitting and paperwork.
- Bring your ID and inform the guide of any medical conditions before departure.
- Wear comfortable shoes for cycling and a light layer you can remove mid-ride.
Historic San Telmo – Calle Defensa
Cycle slowly through the old quarter, cross Calle Defensa and view colonial architecture while the guide explains neighbourhood history and local passions.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep to the guide and use the bike lane where available — streets can be uneven.
- Watch for pedestrians and occasional street vendors on Defensa.
- If you want to buy a small souvenir, keep cash in small denominations for market stalls.
La Boca – Brandsen 805
Ride into La Boca to see historic social and cultural sites; guide comments on football culture and local history near Brandsen 805.
Tips from local experts:
- Lock your bike briefly if you step off — use the guide's recommended public parking spots.
- Stay with the group; some streets are narrow and busy with trucks and pedestrians.
- Keep valuables secured; busy tourist streets attract pickpockets.
Caminito – Valle Iberlucea del Dr. y Magallanes
Longer stop at the Caminito open-air museum area to walk, take photos and learn about the street's artistic history (exterior public space).
Tips from local experts:
- Wear sun protection—few shaded areas in Caminito.
- Respect local artists and performers; photograph politely and consider small purchases.
- Follow the guide's route to avoid narrow, crowded sections during peak times.
Puerto Madero – Rosario Vera Peñaloza (Lunch included)
Lunch stop at a local Puerto Madero restaurant; menu covers Argentine mains (mini steak with fries, pork, veal milanesa, pasta, chicken or salads) plus soft drink. Time allocated for eating and a short walk along the docks.
Tips from local experts:
- Inform the guide of dietary restrictions before ordering; vegan and vegetarian options are available but strict celiac menus are not provided.
- Alcoholic drinks are not included—bring cash or card if you plan to order them on your own.
- Keep a reusable bottle for topping up after lunch; bottled water is excluded from the tour.
Foundational site / Plaza de Mayo – Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen S/N
Short stop at the historic centre to discuss the city's founding and major political landmarks (exterior viewing of government buildings and plaza).
Tips from local experts:
- Follow the guide's instructions around busy intersections; security can be tight near government buildings.
- Keep bikes together and use the designated area the guide chooses for parking.
- Carry a light rain layer in spring weather—sudden showers are possible.
Barrio Palermo – parks and avenues
Cycle through elegant Palermo, noting modern infrastructure, tree-lined avenues and local cafes; time to enjoy green spaces and the neighbourhood atmosphere.
Tips from local experts:
- Palermo has many one-way streets; follow the guide to stay on safe cycling routes.
- If you want a coffee stop later, tell the guide so timing can be adjusted for the group.
- Keep sunscreen on—tree cover varies between streets and parks.
Ecological Reserve – exterior viewpoint (no entry)
Brief viewpoint of the city's protected ecological reserve from the bike route. Per company policy the tour does not include an entrance visit to the reserve; this is an exterior observation only.
Tips from local experts:
- This is a viewpoint only; do not attempt to enter the reserve during the stop.
- The reserve can close on Mondays or during weather alerts—follow guide updates.
- Keep a moderate pace when approaching this area as wind can be stronger near the riverfront.
Recoleta cemetery – Junín 1760 (exterior stop)
Exterior stop to view and discuss the famous necropolis architecture and stories from outside the cemetery grounds. The tour does not include entry inside the cemetery.
Tips from local experts:
- This is an exterior commentary stop; the guide will not lead an internal cemetery visit.
- Respect quiet and private spaces near entrances and residential streets around the cemetery.
- Watch for traffic when stopping on Junín — it's a busy thoroughfare.
Bosques de Palermo – Avenida Infanta Isabel (final stop and return)
Final park stop in Palermo (the city's central park area) to relax, take photos and wrap up. After this stop the group cycles back to the meeting point at Chile 1145 for tour finish (arrival approx. 17:00).
Tips from local experts:
- Keep personal belongings with you during the final stop; brief regroup before the return ride.
- If you need to leave the tour early, tell the guide so they can plan a safe route back to the meeting point.
- Expect light traffic on the return to Montserrat; follow guide instructions for safe crossing and lane use.
