Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at Tokyo Station and follow the coach itinerary to Lake Kawaguchi, Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato (Nenba), and Makaino Farm with timed stops for sightseeing and free exploration.
Meet & check-in — Tokyo Station (Marunouchi Building / Central Exit)
Gather under the Marunouchi Building, opposite the Central Exit of Tokyo Station for check-in with the guide and boarding. The guide will confirm names and hand out any printed materials before departure.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in under the Marunouchi Building (opposite the Central Exit) to avoid delaying departure.
- There are public restrooms and coin-operated lockers inside Tokyo Station — use them before boarding if you have luggage or strollers.
- Keep passports or ID handy for check-in; store lightweight snacks and a small bag on the coach for the day.
Coach transfer — Tokyo Station to Oishi Park (Lake Kawaguchi)
Comfortable coach journey with guide commentary en route to Lake Kawaguchi. Short rest/comfort stops may be taken as needed (timing included in drive).
Tips from local experts:
- Seatbelts are available on the coach — secure small children in their seats during travel.
- Motion-sickness precautions (seat choice, medication) are recommended for guests prone to travel sickness on winding roads.
- Keep a light jacket handy—mountain areas around Mt. Fuji can be cooler than central Tokyo in spring.
Oishi Park (Lake Kawaguchi) — free exploration
One-hour stop to enjoy views over Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji, seasonal flower displays, and lakeside paths. Guests may relax at a lakeside café (own expense) or walk the landscaped gardens.
Tips from local experts:
- Paths around Oishi Park are mostly paved and stroller-friendly; bring a stroller blanket if the ground is damp.
- Watch children closely near the lakeshore; keep them within arm's reach and use stroller brakes on slopes.
- Cafés accept cards at larger outlets, but small lakeside stalls may prefer cash — bring some small change for snacks.
Coach transfer — Oishi Park to Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato (Nenba)
Short coach ride to Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato (a reconstructed thatched-roof village) with time for the guide to assist with park entry tickets on arrival.
Tips from local experts:
- The guide will help purchase entrance tickets on arrival — have a small bag ready for quick access to any necessary documents.
- There are short walks between the coach drop-off and village entrances; wear comfortable shoes for gravel paths.
- If traveling with a stroller, foldable models are easiest to manage inside narrow thatched houses and display areas.
Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba — thatched-roof village visit
Explore the traditional Gassho-style houses showcasing local crafts, farm products, silk and indigo dyeing demonstrations, and photo opportunities with Mt. Fuji in the background (weather permitting). Visitors are free to enter exhibits at their own pace.
Tips from local experts:
- Some thatched houses have low thresholds and narrow interior spaces — use caution with strollers and supervise children inside exhibits.
- Photography is welcome; pick a clear viewpoint for Mount Fuji shots but be mindful of exhibit signs that restrict flash or tripods.
- Indoor exhibits may be small and crowded; plan a shorter route with young children and return later if needed.
Coach transfer — Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato to Makaino Farm
Drive from Saiko area to Makaino Farm near Fujinomiya. The guide will provide information about farm activities and layout during the transfer.
Tips from local experts:
- The drive is roughly 40 minutes; give children a bathroom break before boarding to minimize interruptions.
- Bring a lightweight rain jacket or windbreaker — weather near the foothills can change quickly in spring.
- Store any purchased souvenirs on the coach to keep hands free for farm activities on arrival.
Makaino Farm — interactive farm time (main highlight)
Extended visit to Makaino Farm with free time to meet and interact with animals (sheep, horses, etc.), scenic photo spots, family-friendly hands-on experiences such as milking demonstrations or short rides (subject to farm schedule). Lunch options are available onsite but are not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Lunch is available onsite (buffet/BBQ and dairy products are offered) but is not included — allow extra time if purchasing a meal; bring familiar snacks for children if preferred.
- Follow posted safety guidelines around animals: supervise children closely, avoid feeding animals unless staff permit, and wash hands after interactions.
- Wear closed-toe shoes for animal areas and farm activities; some paths are uneven or grassy.
Return coach transfer — Makaino Farm to Tokyo Station
Coach returns to Tokyo Station with guide commentary; expected arrival back at Tokyo Station in the early evening. Short rest stops may be scheduled en route.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect to arrive at Tokyo Station around 18:00; allow extra time for disembarkation and retrieving any items from the coach.
- Use the last rest stop to refill water bottles and visit restrooms — evening stations can be busy.
- Keep any small children close when disembarking at Tokyo Station; the station is large and can be crowded during evening hours.
