Authentic Santa Claus in Levi Since 1998This Santa Claus experience in Levi offers something rare in Finnish Lapland - a real visit to a 100-year-old reindeer herder’s and farmer’s cabin, fifteen minutes from Levi centre, with a rocking chair, a crackling stove, Christmas decorations and artefacts of Lappish life. It does not look arranged. It looks lived in.Why this is one of the best Santa experiences in LeviSame Santa since 1998Real historic cabin - a 100-year-old reindeer herder’s and farmer’s cabin, not a staged attractionSmall group experience (20–25 guests) with a personal moment for every childForest location away from crowds, fifteen minutes from Levi centreRooted in authentic Finnish Christmas traditions: storytelling, songs, dance, gingerbread workshopFavourite of famous families and sporting legends - for the same reason as everyone elseWhat happens during the Santa experienceSearch for Santa - the magic starts outsideThe program begins at the parking area, where the Elf meets the group and leads everyone on a search - knocking on doors of the other buildings, peeping through windows as elves do - until they find Santa in his hideaway cabin. By the time the door opens, the anticipation builds on its own.Arrival at the Santa secret cabinGuests are welcomed by Santa himself, Rudolf the reindeer, and the Elf. There is time to photograph the magic sleigh outside before heading in. With a group of 20-25 people, the cabin feels lively but still personal.Santa programSanta tells the story of Finnish and Nordic Christmas traditions - how Christmas is celebrated in Lapland, what the season means to the people who live here, and why this corner of the world became Santa’s home. Then every child is called forward personally, comes to sit with Santa, shares their secret wish, and receives a surprise gift - given by Santa’s own hand, in front of the whole group. This is the Finnish way - open and communal, where every child’s moment is shared by the whole room. Then Santa leads the whole group in traditional Christmas songs - carols that belong to the Finnish Christmas season, sung together in the warmth of the cabin. If time allows, a Christmas dance follows. These are not performance moments; they are participation moments, and the difference is felt.Gingerbread workshop with Mrs. ClausMrs. Claus hosts the gingerbread workshop: making, baking and decorating, with the Elf on hand to wrap the finished cookies for the journey home. The evening ends with glögi - traditional Finnish mulled drink with Christmas spices. Before you book - a few things worth knowingOur program is built on Finnish and Nordic Christmas traditions - which are real and meaningful here, but don’t always match what guests from other countries expect. A few things worth knowing before you arrive:Children’s names: Learning children’s names is the Elf’s job - and they always try their best.Children’s letters: Drop your child’s letter at our Safarimarket office in Levi before 12:00 on the program day. Letters are placed in Santa’s post station. Santa may not have time to read every letter during the program - we cannot guarantee he will pick your child’s letter specifically.Special personal gifts: In the group program, every child receives the same standard surprise gift from Santa. Bringing personal gifts from parents is not part of the group program - it would not be fair to the other children. Personal gifts can be arranged on a private booking.Daylight: In November and December, days in Lapland are short and it starts to get dark already after 2 pm - and that is exactly when our Santa program runs. Remember: the magic starts outside. Candlelight glows around the cabin, reflected in the white snow, and the blue Arctic dusk wraps everything in a blue light that bright daylight simply cannot match.Follow the path of celebritiesThis program has long been a favorite of famous families from around the world - athletes, artists, public figures - drawn by the same thing everyone else comes for: a warm, unhurried Christmas evening with no crowds and no rush. In December 2024, the cabin in Levi, Finland welcomed one of the most recognised sporting legends on the planet - here with his family for Christmas, just like anyone else. We don’t share names. We don’t need to.What makes this Santa differentMost Santa experiences in Lapland are designed as attractions. This one is not. The same Santa has been hosting since 1998. The company owner’s own children sat on his knee as toddlers and, even now grown up, still believe he is real.Private optionThe private program adds a reindeer sled ride with Santa to the cabin, personalised gifts and letters prepared in advance through our Elves, and the whole evening is shaped entirely around one family. The most exclusive private Santa experience in Levi. Contact us to arrange or book online here.

Super Reindeer Safari in Levi — 3 km Sleigh Ride, Lichen Feeding and Sámi Reindeer Herding Traditions at OunaskievariWhy this reindeer safari stands outOunaskievari — a working reindeer farm on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, run by Johanna with Sámi roots3 km sleigh ride through snowy forest — the longer sleigh option at this farmLichen feeding with the reindeer calves — close contact in the corral, not a staged encounterFarmhouse presentation on Sámi reindeer herding traditions — the real context, not a tourist scriptHomemade pastries and hot drinks includedOunaskievari sits on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, where the rapids keep moving even in the coldest months. The old barn on the property once served as a stopover for travellers crossing this part of Lapland. The building is still there. The farm is run by Johanna, her mother and their team. Johanna has Sámi roots and carries that heritage into every part of the visit — not as a performance, but as the actual context in which her family has kept reindeer for generations.3 km reindeer sleigh ride through snowy forestA 3 km route through snowy forest along the Ounasjoki River, pulled by reindeer at the unhurried pace of traditional Arctic travel. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. This is the longer sleigh option at this farm — enough time to stop noticing the cold and start noticing the forest.Lichen feeding in the reindeer corral — reindeer therapyAfter the ride, guests enter the reindeer corral. The food handed out is the reindeers’ favourite delicacy — lichen, a natural Arctic plant they eagerly nibble like candy. The calves come close, sometimes close enough to touch. Moving slowly through the corral, there is time to interact with the animals, photograph them at close range and watch how they behave around people. Some approach readily; others keep a polite distance. These are semi-wild animals, and that natural shyness is part of what makes the contact meaningful when it happens. Johanna and the team call this the “reindeer therapy” part of the day — calm, unhurried, grounding.Ounaskievari farmhouse — hot drinks, pastries and reindeer herding traditionsThe visit ends inside the warm farmhouse: hot drinks — berry juice, coffee or tea — homemade pastries, and a short presentation on reindeer herding. Johanna covers the daily work of a herder, the seasonal calendar, the Sámi roots of her family and what the long-term relationship between a family and their herd actually looks like. There is time to ask questions, connect with the culture and browse local souvenirs before the return to Levi.Who this is forFamilies with children of all ages looking for a calm, personal reindeer experienceGuests who want the longer sleigh ride and more time at the farmAnyone interested in Sámi reindeer herding culture and traditionsThose who want a genuine farm visit rather than a staged tourist attractionPrivate optionThere are 2 Private program options for this tour:1. Private program.During the 3 km ride we make a stop in the forest and warm up by a cozy fire in a forest kota hut — hot drinks, pancakes and sausages by the open fire, and stories about reindeer herding traditions and the everyday life of a herder. After the ride, guests enter the reindeer corral and feed the young calves their favourite delicacy — lichen, a natural Arctic plant they eagerly nibble like candy. Note: the private program does not include the main farmhouse session. Guests can use the warm facilities inside the main house.2. Comfort+ program.Private transfer from your accommodation and a dedicated accompanying guide. On arrival at Ounaskievari, guests join the standard group program.Contact us to arrange either option.

The route winds through snow-covered forest and open Arctic landscape on a mix of public and private trails. The private sections go deeper — away from other snowmobiles, into terrain that few visitors in Levi ever reach.Part 2 — The reindeer farm experienceThe snowmobiles stop and the reindeer are already there. Dozens of them, surrounding the group in what the herder calls a ‘sea of reindeer’. The farm is run by Jussi, a local herder whose family has kept reindeer across generations. Animal welfare comes first here: no rides, no tricks. The reindeer live freely in nature for most of the year and are brought to the farm in winter for feeding and care. Groups are kept small — up to 15 people, maximum 2 visits per day.Guests are handed buckets of feed — hay and specially formulated pellets — and move slowly through several feeding stations. Some reindeer come close enough to touch; others keep their distance. That natural shyness is part of what makes the contact meaningful. The herder talks throughout about the animals, the seasonal calendar and what this life actually demands. Guests call it ‘reindeer therapy’ — and it is hard to argue with that after an hour in the stillness of a winter farm.Traditional Lappish kota meal by the open fireThe kota is pre-heated and warmed in advance, ready for the guests. Our own kota chef serves a traditional Lappish kota meal. After spending time with the reindeer, the group moves into the warm kota. Wooden benches covered with reindeer hides, open fire. Guests grill their own reindeer sausage — made from locally and ethically sourced ingredients. Then thin Finnish pancakes with arctic berry jam and whipped cream. Coffee brewed in a pot over the fire, hot berry juice, herbal tea. While the guests enjoy their meal, the host carries on — more stories about the reindeer, Sámi-inspired traditions and the realities of Arctic living, and whatever questions have built up over the last hour.Lasso and diplomaBefore the return ride, guests try lasso throwing and each receives a personal diploma of Reindeer Herder’s Assistant. The group then rides back to the safari house by snowmobile, changes out of gear and is driven back to Levi by car or minibus.Who this is forFamilies with children aged 10 and aboveCouples and small groups interested in authentic Lappish reindeer herding cultureAnyone who wants to combine snowmobile riding with a genuine animal encounterGuests looking for a full half-day experience with a proper meal includedPrivate OptionA private version of this tour means the reindeer farm visit is exclusively for your group — your time with the herd, your kota, your meal. This is ten minutes from Levi centre. No light pollution, no resort noise, an almost 360° open sky overhead — and a transfer that takes less time than finding a parking space.Your entrance ticket covers everything. From the first fire to the last marshmallow, every part of the evening — the walk, the snow park, the Polarman’s presentation, the dome, the BBQ, the stories, the photographs — is part of a single live program, with the Polarman as your host throughout. The Polarman — A Local Northern Host Who Has Lived the ArcticThe Polarman is not a regular safari guide. He is a local person who has spent years living and travelling in the Arctic, with a genuine background in long-distance expeditions in extreme arctic conditions. When he talks about surviving the cold, reading the sky or how to build a snow shelter, he is speaking from experience. The stories he tells by the fire each evening are his own.Being Outside in the Arctic Night — Cold, Dark and RealFor many guests — coming from warmer countries, from cities, from places where snow exists mainly in photographs — being in a real winter wilderness is already something. Standing beside an open fire in a silent snowscape. Walking along a frozen river in the dark. The whole evening is designed so you can be properly outside — cold, dark, real — and always have somewhere warm to go back to. The aurora dome is always open, always above +15°C (59°F), all evening. Guests move between outside and inside freely, on their own terms. The Snow Igloo Park — Hand-Built Each Winter, Lit After Dark (Dec 10 – Mar 31)Built each winter by hand as soon as the freezing temperatures hold, the Snow Igloo Park is a world of carved archways, connecting tunnels, igloos and snow sculptures — enclosed by walls of packed snow, and lit after dark in deep blues, purples, reds and ambers. The coloured light thrown across the white snow under an open winter sky is something photographs almost don’t do justice to.Arctic Survival Presentation Inside the Snow IglooInside the big snow igloo, the Polarman gives his Arctic survival presentation — sharing the knowledge and techniques that have kept him safe on long expeditions in the north. One detail that surprises almost every guest: at -30°C (-22°F) outside, it is genuinely warm inside a snow igloo. It’s a surprise for most visitors. You feel it yourself.Children find their favorite parts of the park — tobogganing on the snow slide, finding their way through the maze, exploring the snow tunnels.Nov 20 – Dec 9 — The Snow Igloo Park as It Takes ShapeIn late November and early December the Snow Igloo Park is still under construction. The vast blocks of snow that are used to buildthe walls and structures are mid-formation — partly built, partly raw. Not a lesser version of the park, but a different and rarer one.The Guided Walk Along the Frozen River — Private Wilderness on FootThe Polarman leads a guided walk through the private camp area along the frozen river — away from the dome and the firepit, into the quiet of the forest and the dark. The kind of walk that is only possible on private land, after dark, with someone who knows the place. The Lappish BBQ, Firepit Storytelling & Arctic Night SkyThe evening closes around the outdoor firepit. Collect your sausage from the Arctic BBQ Snow Station — a serving counter carved from snow inside the igloo — then grill it on a stick over the open fire. Marshmallows follow. More stories from the Polarman. The sky above.Staff watch conditions throughout the evening. When there is activity in the sky, guests are called outside immediately, professional camera ready. The camp’s location — private land, no light pollution, almost 360° open skyline — makes it one of the best spots near Levi for Northern Lights viewing when conditions allow.Professional Photo Session — Images Sent by Email After the EventA professional photo session runs throughout the entire program. All images are processed and sent to guests by email after the event — no need to manage your own camera in the cold.Who This Is For• Guests who want a complete live evening program rather than a single attraction• Families with children of all ages — no physical requirements, aurora dome as warm refuge throughout• Northern lights hopefuls who want to combine aurora hunting with a genuine Lappish evening• Anyone who wants to experience real Arctic wilderness without a long journey from LeviPrivate optionTwo private options are available:1. Snowshoeing to Secret Reindeer Forest in Levi — Afternoon Herder’s Day with Soup Kota Lunch, Warm Clothing IncludedWhy this is one of the most complete experiences in LeviSnowshoe hike entirely on private land — no public trails, no other visitorsThe Secret Reindeer Forest — Jussi’s privately owned old pine and birch forestAnimal welfare first: no rides, no tricks — semi-wild reindeer on their own termsMaximum 10 people, two visits per day — genuinely small groupAfternoon departure — includes the full Herder’s Day with soup kota lunch: vegetable soup with rieska, reindeer sausage, Finnish pancakes, hot drinksWarm winter clothing included — nothing to rent or arrange separatelyLasso practice and personal Reindeer Herder’s Assistant diplomaPart 1 Snowshoeing Hike in the Private WildernessThe tour begins in Levi village with snowshoe fitting, then a 10-minute transfer to the starting point. With the guide, the group walks a 2–4 km loop through snowy forests and frozen swampland. The route is chosen for its balance of gentle movement and scenery — several good spots for photographing Lapland’s winter landscape along the way.The snowshoe trail lies entirely on private land. No public trails, no other visitors, no ski slope sounds in the background. Just the forest, the frost and the crunch of snowshoes on undisturbed snow.Part 2 Reindeer Encounter in the Secret Reindeer ForestAfter about an hour of snowshoeing, the trail arrives at an old pine and birch forest — privately owned by the reindeer herding family, completely secluded. This is what the program calls the Secret Reindeer Forest. No other visitors are assigned to this location. As the group steps in, curious reindeer begin to approach from the surrounding woodland, expecting food. The herder greets the group and gives a short introduction to the family’s long tradition in Lappish reindeer husbandry. Jussi and his family have kept reindeer across generations on this privately owned land. Animal welfare is the foundation of how the program is run: no rides, no tricks, no tamed animals performing for visitors. The reindeer live freely in the wilderness for most of the year and are only brought into the forest during winter for feeding and care. The herd is on its own terms — the herder is present to guide the encounter, not to stage it.Guests are handed buckets of feed — hay and specially prepared pellets — and move slowly through several natural spots in the forest, feeding the herd as it gathers. Some reindeer come close enough to touch; others keep their distance. That natural shyness is part of what makes the contact meaningful. Groups are kept small — maximum 10 people, two visits per day. This is what the program calls reindeer therapy: calm, unhurried, and genuinely unlike a staged animal encounter.Traditional Lappish kota meal by the open fireThe kota is pre-heated and warmed in advance, ready for the guests. Our own kota chef serves a traditional Lappish kota meal. After spending time with the reindeer, the group moves into the warm kota. Wooden benches covered with reindeer hides, open fire. The lunch starts with the Northern Light Veloute — our kota chef’s signature soup, made fresh over the open fire and served with rieska, local flatbread toasted on the flames. The wilderness Michelin star. No actual stars, no white tablecloths, just a quietly exceptional bowl of soup in a reindeer-skin kota deep in the Arctic forest. It always tastes better than it has any right to. Then reindeer sausage: guests can grill over the open fire with the chef’s guidance — locally made, ecologically sourced. Then our chef serves thin Finnish pancakes with arctic berry jam and whipped cream. Coffee brewed in a pot on the fire, berry juice, herbal tea. While the guests enjoy their meal, the host carries on — more stories about the reindeer, the arctic way of living, and whatever questions have built up over the last hour.Lasso and diplomaBefore the return, guests try lasso throwing outside the kota. Each receives a personal diploma of Reindeer Herder’s Assistant. The return hike is shorter — approximately 15 minutes back to the transfer point.Vegetarian, vegan or chicken sausage alternatives available on request.Who this is for• Families with grown-up children aged 12 and above (recommended age — see Important remarks)• Couples and small groups who want an authentic reindeer encounter combined with active snowshoeing• Guests who want a full half-day experience with a proper meal and warm clothing provided• Anyone looking for the Reindeer Herder’s Day experience reached on foot rather than by snowmobile sledPrivate OptionThe Secret Reindeer Forest is already exclusively yours on this tour — a private booking extends that exclusivity to the full snowshoe hike and the kota lunch. Your group, the herder, and the herd. Contact us to arrange.

Easy Snowshoeing in Levi — Forest Trail, No Experience Needed, Hot Berry Juice in the WildWhy choose this snowshoe tour in LeviNo transport needed — starts and ends in Levi village centreEasy level, suitable from age 12 — comparable to cycling 5 kmGuide reads the winter landscape: animal tracks, Arctic nature, how wildlife survives the coldHot berry juice stop in the forest halfway throughAvailable December to AprilWarm winter clothing available to rent at Safarimarket, just minutes awaySnowshoe trail through Levi’s winter forestSnowshoes distribute your weight across the snow so you walk on top of it rather than through it. That is the whole principle, and it takes about five minutes to get used to. The guide meets the group in Levi village centre, fits everyone with snowshoes adjusted to their boot size, and walks a short distance to the trailhead at the base of Levi fell. The route is a 2-4 km loop — the exact path chosen on the day based on snow conditions and the group’s pace. The trail winds through snow-covered woodland and across small frozen lakes. In the forest, the silence is the first thing you notice: no traffic, no lifts, no voices. Just the soft crunch of snowshoes underfoot and, occasionally, a breath of wind through the trees. The guide reads the landscape as you go — pointing out animal tracks pressed into the snow, explaining how hares turn white in winter, where willow grouse shelter in deep frost, how the reindeer find lichen beneath the surface. Midway through the route, the group stops in the forest for hot berry juice. Steaming in the cold air. The kind of simple thing that feels good after an hour in the winter woods. The tour finishes back in Levi village. When the sled is in use, the whole group travels at 20–25 km/h. The route winds through snow-covered forest and across open Arctic terrain, with the guide leading throughout.Part 2 — Mini snowmobiles and kotaThe midway stop is at a private kota set on a frozen open swamp — spacious, clearly visible terrain with scattered small trees, ideal for young riders. The kota is pre-heated and ready on arrival, with an open fire already going. Three mini-snowmobiles are available, sized for different ages:Arctic Cat ZR120 — for children from age 3+Arctic Cat ZR200 — for children from age 5+Polaris 550 Indy 121 Evo — for children from age 10+Mini-snowmobiles are operated on a specially prepared private track under close supervision of STG guides. Speed is limited for safety. If several children of similar age participate, they take turns so every child gets a ride. While the children ride, parents warm up inside the kota — prepared and warmed in advance, with a ready open fire — grill sausage and have a hot drink. After the stopover, the group returns together on snowmobiles.Note: children drive mini-snowmobiles only in the designated area. During the safari route, they ride in the sleigh.Who this is forFamilies with children from approximately 3–4 years and 100 cm heightParents who want to see their children behind the wheel of a real snowmobileFamilies where children are the focus — the mini-snowmobiles are the highlightPrivate NoteWith young children, a private safari means the mini-snowmobile track is entirely theirs — no waiting for turns with other families, also kota is only for your family. Not much, but enough. This tour takes you out of it — up to 50 km from the centre — with a driver who knows where the sky opens up and where the conditions are best on any given night.Reading the Sky — How Local Arctic Weather Knowledge Finds the Northern LightsCloudy skies do not automatically rule out a sighting. Cloud layers vary in thickness, and wind can shift the cover quickly. On many evenings that look overcast from the village, gaps open up at the right moment in the right direction. This is what local knowledge is for. The driver has seen enough Lapland nights to read the sky, not just the forecast. That said, the northern lights cannot be guaranteed on any tour, anywhere in Lapland. Snowshoeing to Santa’s Cabin in Levi — Gondola to the Summit, Panoramic Fell Views, Joulutarina Film LocationWhy this is one of the most scenic snowshoe tours in LeviGondola ride to the summit of Levi fell (531 m) — no uphill hiking required to reach the topPanoramic views: the fells of Ylläs, Pallas and Kätkä visible on the horizon, views to Sweden on clear daysSanta’s Cabin — widely considered the most Instagrammable spot in Levi, made famous by the Finnish Christmas film JoulutarinaFireside grilled sausage and hot berry juice in a traditional kota halfway downIn December: the cabin in kaamos blue light is something that cannot be planned — only experiencedThe tour begins in Levi village with snowshoe fitting, then a short transfer to the gondola station. The gondola lifts the group to the top of Levi fell. If the gondola is closed due to weather, a car transfer takes you as far up as conditions allow, followed by a short uphill walk of approximately 500 metres to the snowshoe starting point.Snowshoe descent from Levi summit to Santa's CabinThe snowshoe route starts at the summit and works down through open fell terrain before the trees begin again. Before the descent begins, the guide pauses at the top. From here, on a clear day, the view is one of the finest in Finnish Lapland — a sweeping panorama across the most fell-dense region of Western Lapland. The fells of Ylläs, Pallas and Kätkä are visible on the horizon, along with many others receding into the distance. On the clearest days the view extends all the way to Sweden. It is the kind of landscape that resets your sense of scale. The first stop on the way down is Santa’s Cabin — widely considered the most Instagrammable spot in Levi. A small, snow-laden log hut set into the fell, it was made famous across Finland by the Christmas film Joulutarina and has since become one of the most-photographed locations in the country. In winter, blanketed in fresh snow with the fell landscape stretching away behind it, it looks exactly like something from a storybook. The guide gives time to photograph it before the group continues into the forest below.Fireside kota break on Levi fellMidway down the slope, the group stops at a traditional kota. The guide lights the fire. Sausages grilled over the open flame, hot berry juice poured. A proper rest before the legs are asked for the final descent to the lower parking area, where the transfer back to Levi is waiting. This tour involves a continuous downhill snowshoe descent. It is moderate comparable to a hilly forest walk but the uneven terrain and sustained downhill make it unsuitable for guests with knee problems, heart conditions or mobility limitations.Who this is forPhotography enthusiasts and Instagram-focused travellersCouples and small groups who want scenic fell views without a full mountain hikeGuests interested in Finnish Christmas culture and the Joulutarina filmAnyone who wants a moderate active experience with a clear photographic highlightPrivate OptionA private tour means a dedicated guide and transport arranged exclusively for your group — your own departure time, your own pace down the fell, and the full attention of the guide throughout. Where the trail crosses onto private ground, you will not see another snowmobile. The combination of public reach and private exclusivity is what makes this route stand apart. This is a safari that rewards solo driving. On your own machine, you feel the terrain properly — the pull on an uphill, the compression through a bend, the machine running at pace across open snow. With a passenger it works, but it is not the same. Shared snowmobiles are available; solo supplement is worth it.Midway through, the group stops at a private wilderness kota or a wilderness café, depending on the route and conditions. The energy released here when creative people from a wide variety of backgrounds and places meet the ice is almost tangible. Each year some 40 artists are taking part in Icehotel. The name Jukkasjärvi comes from a Sami word that roughly translates as “meeting place by the water”, as the village was historically an important marketplace. At Icehotel, too, meetings take center stage – the meetings between Jukkasjärvi residents and visitors, between different cultures, between people and nature, and between ice and creativity. At the end of the visit you will have a lunch in IceHotel’s restaurant, after what you’ll start your way back home.

Korouoma is a 30 kilometer long geological fracture valley in Posio. It is a part of a fracture zone in the bedrock, which is hundreds of millions of years old. At the center of Korouoma the fracture valley forms a gorge with high cliff faces. Small streams which cascade down the cliff faces in the summer, freeze into beautiful frozen waterfalls during winter, making Korouoma the number one ice climbing destination in Finland.

Ice Karting, Levi — Two Sessions on Ice, 5 Minutes from Levi CentreWhy this stands outThe track is 5 minutes from Levi centre by shuttle — no long transferStudded tyres and quiet four-stroke engines: fast enough to be exciting, controlled enough to be safe for beginnersTwo sessions with a break means time to find your feel for the track and improve — not just one lap and doneFull racing gear provided on site — helmet, balaclava, shoes, gloves, overalls — nothing to bringNo driving licence required, minimum height 145 cmInspired by Finland’s legendary rally culture: a genuinely Finnish way to spend an hourThe programThe shuttle departs from Hissitie 11, in front of Kotipizza Levi (across from Zero Point). On arrival at the track, the group gathers in the drivers’ pit zone for a safety briefing and driving tips. Then into the racing gear: helmet, balaclava, shoes, gloves and overalls are all provided. The program includes two driving sessions of approximately 15 minutes each. In between, the group warms up outdoors by an open fire with hot berry juice. The break is a natural opportunity to talk lap times and get ready for the second session. On the circuit: studded tyres give grip but allow controlled slides. The quiet four-stroke engines respond clearly to throttle input, which makes it straightforward to learn the basics of driving on ice. The track and karts are the same for all experience levels — beginners and more experienced drivers use the same equipment.Inspired by Finnish rally cultureFinland has produced more World Rally Championship drivers per capita than any other country. Ice karting at Levi is the easiest and most accessible way to understand why: the way a car behaves on ice — the slide, the correction, the throttle balance — is something you feel in the seat, not something you can watch from a distance. No licence, no previous experience, just 145 cm and a willingness to try.Optional add-onsAvailable on the day at the track: soup lunch in the warm café (soup, bread and butter, coffee or tea); snowtubing on two illuminated slides of different lengths (2-hour ticket from departure time). Spectators can join the transport subject to available capacity and a supplement charge.Responsibility waiverScandinavian Travel Group is not responsible for changes, disruptions or unavailability affecting the ice karting track or any third-party venue. No refund is due for circumstances beyond our control. STG reserves the right to adjust the program if a participant is considered a danger to themselves or others or fails to follow safety instructions.

In both settings, you’ll enjoy hot berry juice and cookies, while hearing more about husky life in the Arctic from your hosts. This kennel puts the well-being of the dogs first. The huskies live in spacious enclosures with plenty of room to run, rest, and socialize. Each dog receives daily care and attention, with rest days scheduled regularly to prevent overwork. Training is based on trust, motivation, and positive reinforcement — and it shows in the dogs’ enthusiasm and happiness. When harnessed, their joyful howls and wagging tails speak for themselves.Note! We don’t recommend this program for very small children (under 4 y.o.) due to longer time outdoors.

In this cross-border excursion, our destination is Norwegian Kautokeino - one of the main cities of Saami people, last aborigines in Europe. It’s located about 3 hours from Levi. We will first visit famous Silver gallery & workshop JUHLs, then go visit a local Saami reindeer camp for the authentic experience. Silver gallery JUHLs is a life's work of Frank and Regine Juhls. It all started in the 1950s when the couple began to take on work repairing Sami silver jewelry, none of which had been made by the Sami; it had found its way north through trade. The silver gallery building is full of surprises, such as the little hen and sheep barn, separated from the exhibition only by a glass wall. One room is devoted to the Juhls couple's travels in Afghanistan where they found a nomad culture that bore many similarities to the Sami culture. A small wing is also a museum for old objects that were discarded in the fifties and sixties, when plastic and steel came into vogue. It contains costumes, cheese-making molds and bone spoons — old items that no one needed any more. The silversmith also works in the building. Regine Juhls also learnt the silversmith's craft, although for her, silver was a means of artistic expression and her Tundra series is regarded as a modern classic. Her jewelry features light, fragile, organic and imaginative lines, inspired by the vegetation and light of the tundra, and landscape of the Finnmark plain. After visiting Juhls silver gallery you will go to a local Saami reindeer herder’s camp and get a taste of life of Saami people: you’ll sit on the snowmobile sledge and take a ride to the “back yard” of Saami, to the local forest wilderness camp. Here everyone gets a chance to choose his/her own reindeer, which you will use in the first part of competition: racing in a circle driving reindeer sleds. The second part will be lasso throwing. Lucky winners of 3 first places will be awarded prizes. Then you’ll be invited inside a tradition Saami home – teepee “laavu”, where you will sit around the open fire, taste a traditional meal made by a local Saami family and hear some master’s storytelling and joiking performance of young Saami girl.
